Good sense of humour

Thanks to a friend for getting me these chocolates.
It had a bright safari theme packaging and I liked the way they were called ANIMAL DROPPINGS with a cute zebra proudly holding them too!

The packaging and wording is exactly the same as BEYERS Chocolates but they are called African animal droppings with a giraffe and not a zebra.

Basically they were chocolate coated almonds which had a creamy Tiramisu taste and a slight sugary texture.

Milk chocolate Strawberry by GODIVA

Thanks to siuyeadragon for this bar of strawberry milk chocolate.

It was really nice and every bite had crispy strawberry pieces in it.
The strawberry pieces tasted natrual.

Treasure box of chocolates and a moonchocolate

I love the new mooncake revolution that breaks the traditional, first they launched snowy mooncakes then the custard filled ones, now they have chocolate mooncakes as well as icecream mooncakes.

As well as the mooncakes, the boxes this year have become more creative, from tea tables to environmentally friendly ones.

The Lucullus mooncake box has a traditional touch to it which reminds me of the Chinese cheongsam dress and the beautiful Chinese knot buttons.

The back of the box is beautifully decorated with peonies and red roses.

Inside the Treasure box are chocolates, with four big pieces of chocolate which form the mooncake.

The chocolates are great for sharing.
[Clockwise from the top left: Mango white truffle, green apple truffle, lotus floral truffle and dark truffle ]

Persimmon truffle

Sesame truffle, Lychee truffle

Autumn leaf corn truffle, milk hazelnut crunch, milk pistachio coffee, dark four brother

The chocolate mooncake:

On each quarter, you can see the words Lucullus on the edges.

Green: coffee crunch, Red: pistachio chocolate crispy, blue: praline rice crispy, Yellow: dark truffle.

The chocolates were enjoyable, especially the new flavours such as lychee truffle and green apple truffle.

For those who still prefer the traditional mooncakes, there are other choices which have chocolates as well as the traditional mooncakes.

Nutty bites at Lucullus Gourmet Shop

Got some nutty bites from Lucullus Gourmet Shop because it came in a lovely slender brown tin.

There are two flavours, Cranberry and Rice crispy.

The chocolate coated cranberry had a sweeter taste with nutty bits in it.

Personally I preferred the nutty one because it was not so sweet with lovely pieces of rice crispies.

Mini chocolates by Lucullus

I got these because they were cute and miniature!

In the box, each chocolate represents a country with different flavours:
Peanut rice crispy, almond praline, lemon, earl grey, sea salt, Jasmine, strawberry, macadamia nuts, apple, mango, pistachio, hazelnut, tiramisu, coffee, wasabi, orange.

The prettiest ones were probably the apple and orange!

My favourites were the earl grey, jasmine and pistachio and because of the size you can try more flavours in one go without eating too many.

Frederic Blondeel chocolates now in Hong Kong

Frederic Blondeel has been a master chocolatier for over 15 years and makes chocolates at his unit in Beauvoorde, Belgium.
His chocolates are now available at K11!

I was so lucky to try their chocolates which cost around $18-$20 per piece.

Each chocolate is named according to its taste.
Joint flavours are named by the predominate taste that comes first then the aftertaste eg Rose and woody pepper which means you get the rose taste first followed by the woody pepper aftertaste.
Personally I liked this brand because other brands such as Godiva, Jean Paul Hevin and La Maison du Chocolat disappointed me.

Sao Tome 75%

It was soft with a nice crispy coating.
The sweetness and bitterness were perfectly balanced.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Jasmin

The Jasmine was not that significant at the beginning but it slowly comes out.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Rose and woody pepper

I don't like Rose but it was pleasant and tasted like Turkish delight but much better because it was chocolately.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Coeur

This had Hazelnut gianduja, cocoa nibs with feuillantine.
I don't know why but it reminded me of the peanut M & Ms.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Szechuan Pepper

This was my favourite because it was not spicy but it had the lovely aromatic szechuan pepper taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chili

The chili chocolate tastes like normal chocolate at the beginning and then the aftertaste of chili slowly comes out.
This chocolate would be a good prank for someone who does not like chili because it tastes innocently like a normal chocolate at the beginning but the chili is not that strong, so they won't get too annoyed.
For chocolate and chili lovers, this would be a good pick and you can also get Drunken Chocolate Chili Ice Cream at Yun Yan.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cralin Dark

Caramel lovers are going to love this because the caramel is slightly salted with a crispy texture to balance out the stickiness of the caramel.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Ghana 85%

This was smooth with a hint of bitterness.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Feullantine Dark

The feullantine dark has a crunchy centre.
Cassonade Dark

The cassonade has a soft inside wtih a crispy shell.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Irish Coffee

This was my favourite because the centre was thick ganache with a mega strong Irish coffee taste.
I would definitely recommend this to guys.
