Portobello mushroom and chips @ Yeh Lam Kwok

I love Portobello mushrooms, so I got the grilled Portobello mushroom with chips.

It was a plate of chips and a big mushroom.

The mushroom was covered in cheese and Chinese salad cream, which ruined it.
The Chinese salad cream made it sweet and slightly sour.
The chips were fried nicely and not too burnt.
The meal wasn’t that filling, but at least I had a chance of eating Portobello mushroom instead of having it in a burger joint.

Before that had soup as starter, and it was interesting to find octopus/squid tentacles in it.

Italian pasta at the local Chinese cafe! @ 銳記茶餐廳

Although the previous review on the pasta here was negative I came here especially for the Pasta!

It was quite interesting to see pasta on the menu in a Chinese cafe.

For the pasta, it is basically a multitude of combinations.

First you need to choose the sauce: cream or tomato.
Secondly, there are three ingredients to pick from the choice of five, namely: ham, mushroom, tuna, clams, sausage.
Then finally, you pick your pasta from a choice of: fusilli, angel hair, spinach fettucine or Penne. I tried the same combination of spinach fettucine cooked with tuna, clams and mushrooms cooked in cream sauce and tomato sauce. Both were not bad, however the one in cream sauce was slightly too creamy, but after adding pepper and salt it made it better.
The tomato one was also good too.

On the side of the table, there were compartments with condiments, the best one was Sesame oil!
Not many places will have sachets of sesame oil for you to use freely.
Similar to adding Olive oil to pasta, I added sesame oil to my pasta for fun, and it tasted quite nice. One of the waitors here was also interesting, he himself was a very tidy and clean fella, his uniform was pure white and spotless.
He was probably in his late 50s but took pride in his appearance as well as keeping the tables neat and tidy!

Mushroom burger series at McDonalds

Tried the mushroom burger series which reminds me of Burger King's mushroom swiss.
You don't often see McDonalds serve burgers with mushrooms, but some other International McDonalds do.
There are two burgers in the Mushroom burger series: the Mushroom burger and the Mushroom Deluxe.
Both these burgers have a quarter pounder beef patty inside.

Mushroom burger
The Mushroom burger is the lighter option of the two which is only the maized topped bun itself, a piece of sliced cheese, quarter pounder beef patty and sauce.
As I am not keen on beef I found the quarter pounder beef patty too heavy. I would have preferred the beef patties from the Hamburgers.
Luckily the sauce was really strong and covered the taste of the beef.
The sauce was dark beige and it tasted really tangy with a hint of black pepper.
The grounded black pepper could be visually seen in the sauce.

Mushroom Deluxe:
This is basically the Mushroom burger with a rash of bacon and some lettuce.
It was quite messy to eat because there was a lot of fillings inside.
It does not taste as strong as the Mushroom burger because there is lettuce and a rash of bacon in it as well.
There is less sauce in it too.

I would recommend ordering the Mushroom burger in the Mushroom series if your a Mushroom lover.
