What's your cocktail portrait?

I don't normally drink but I was captivated by their cocktail portrait because it sounded interesting.

At first I thought it was gimmick and some sort of art but it turns out to be a personalized cocktail to suit your palate.

Before they make you the drink, you are given some carbonated water to cleanse your palate which I thought was brilliant.

You are then given a form to tick so that the cocktail stylist can get an idea of the sort of drink you are looking for.

Although mine was a mocktail, I loved the taste, it was wonderful and just how I liked it because it had notes of sweet strawberry and refreshing lime which were the sours that I was looking for.
There was also cream, fig and a hint of chili to smooth it out with some excitement.

This was the drink that my friend was impressed with as well which had notes of pineapple, cream, banana and passionfruit.

As well as the drinks, the bar was lovely and cozy too!

twenty grains? 甘味讚岐手打烏冬

Went here before a movie so had a quick dinner.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
stir fried beef with twenty grain:

This dish wasn't outstanding and beneath the beef you could see about three different types of rice so I wonder why it is called twenty grains!!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Soup:

The soup was tasteless.

Nood's new raw and organic infused waters

At nood, they have new drinks again!!

They have launched some raw and organic infused waters which makes it tastier than drinking water.
The drinks contain chia seeds which are rich in fibre and promotes hydration and digestion as well as being a good source of omega-3 and protein.

The three flavours are: Flower Power, Green Envy and Volcano.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
J35 Flower Power HK$50 / 450ml
Ingredients: Filtered Water, Lime Juice, Maple Syrup, Chia Seeds, Hibiscus Tea
This flavour is fun and fruity with a little bit of zest from lime juice.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
J36 Green Envy HK$50 / 450ml
Ingredients: Filtered Water, Maple Syrup, Lemon Juice, Lime Juice, Chia Seeds, Barley Grass Powder, Mint Extract
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
J37 Volcano HK$50 / 450ml
Ingredients: Filtered Water, Maple Syrup, Lemon Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, Chia Seeds, Oregano Oil, Cayenne Pepper
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In the end, I chose the Green Envy because it had barley grass powder and lime juice.

The drink is clearly labelled.

The taste of this drink was refreshing and cooling because of the lime juice and there was a strong minty aftertaste.

My favourites were the nougats while the others were fighting over the Chinese treats.
The treats were gone in a flash and I was left with an empty firecracker which is a great box to store things.

McDonald's Sticky sweet Shogan burger

I was not impressed with this burger because it looked like it had been in an accident.
Sauce was everywhere, all over the burger and wrapper.

The taste wasn't good because it tasted like eating a dessert burger because the sauce was just sweet.

Captivated by their Chiuchow style fried rice at 曉廚軒香港風味

Came here because the previous review had pictures of delicious fried rice which had Chinese pickled olive vegetables 欖菜 in it.

When I got there, it was NOT ON THE MENU
LUCKILY I showed them the picture from openrice and they were able to ask the chef to serve it
Decided to get the set which had soup.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fish maw and whelk soup:

The soup tasted ok but the ingredients were crap especially the fish maw which was fishy and the whelk was a bit mushy and didn't taste fresh.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
潮式欖菜炒飯:

The fried rice was good because the rice was al-dente and loose with tasty pickled Chinese olive vegetables in every spoonful.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
PLEASE NOTE that pickled Chinese olive vegetables is name made up by me because I couldn't google the English for 欖菜!!!!

Golden food moments at Golden Bauhinia Cantonese Restaurant

It was my first time dining here and the dishes that we had were amazing.
Here was what we had:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Starter:

Started off with ducks tongue, jellyfish, roast suckling pig, crispy beef brisket, prawn cake with water chestnuts.
The suckling pig was extremely crispy and the ducks tongues were soft and tasty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Double boiled fish maw soup with porcini and Yunnan ham:

Next we had this warming soup which had a strong flavour from the ham and a lovely sticky feeling from the fish maw.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Abalone, goose feet, oyster and sea moss:

It was my favourite four items together in rich oyster sauce.
The abalone was tasty and soft.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Stir fried garoupa with French beans:

This was succulent pieces of garoupa paired with crunchy beans.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crispy fried chicken marinated in tea leaf:

The chicken breast was amazingly tender and silky like cotton while the thigh piece was springy and meaty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Organic choysum with conpoy, dried shrimp in rice soup:

This was my favourite because the rice soup was gently flavoured and it tasted like congee made into a gravy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Salmon fried rice with truffle:

I was stunned by the presentation.
The grains of rice were distinct and the truffle was not too artificial and overpowering.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
double boiled pear with citrus peel:

I am not a fan of Chinese desserts but I liked the pear and soup because there was a nice bitterness from the citrus peel and it was not too sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Steamed sponge cake with olive kernal and eggtart:

I was too full for this but the sponge cake smelt nice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chinese radish pudding with abalone and conpoy:

The radish pudding had chunks of radish with a delicate taste of conpoy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Red dates and Osmanthus pudding:

The pudding was chewy but every bite contained sweet red dates.
