lettuce and fish patty soup @ Cafe De Coral

Ordered a mini roast pork with rice, including HK style tea, and also ordered a lettuce and fish soup.

The tea I gave away, and the rice was nice and soft, and the roast pork was not too fat or lean, with enough soy sauce.

The soup, had bits of lettuce and fish patty, the advantage having it here, is that it is more hygienic than the one served in the congested streets.

Tender flamed grilled chicken @ Burger King

Finally paid this branch a visit, and ordered the Tender flamed grilled chicken.

I really liked the bun, topped with yellow maize rather than sesame seeds.

The burger was neatly presented, no lettuce falling out or sauce on the sides.
Very managable in terms of size, and not too much salad in the bun.
The chicken was very juicy and tender just as stated, and the chicken was thigh meat which could not go wrong.

The fries were crunchy, much better than the BK at the airport branch.

Also had a spicy grilled chicken wing, good as expected and not too dry or overly spicy.

Delicious chips with cheddar sauce @ Burger Mix

Again I was drawn to this place because of chips, not the chips itself, but the cheese sauce, not the melted cheese type, but a smooth runny cheddar sauce.

I like various styles of chips, especially poutine, gravy and chips, curry sauce and chips.

Anyway the chips here and the sauce complemented each other very well. Firstly the chips were light golden yellow, and not too burnt, giving it a crispy skin with a nice and soft starchy centre.
The oil was fresh, hence there was no foul taste in it.
The sauce was nice and runny, and salty enough to flavor the chips.
It reminds me of the American Cheese sauce, shown on the pic, but not as thick as that, and the sauce here does not go thick after a while.

I was a bit hesitant in trying outside food bars due to the hot weather, but the chips were hot, but not piping hot, and they were ready very quickly too, so either they had been done for a while.

I wanted to try the burgers, but there wasn’t a comfortable environment to eat.

Price wise, I thought the fries were a bit expensive, just a small cup, but since the quality was so good, I thought it was worth it. Comparing the cost of fries and their burgers, they both cost around $1X so if you are ordering burgers and adding additional fries, it would be a better deal.

In the distant future, when the weather cools down, I will probably try their burgers, mainly because the reviews say the patty is thin, and also the cheese sauce is good.
Apart from the tuna burger I had at Freshness, I believe this is the second place in HK that serves it, but only for breakfast/afternoon periods.

The menu saids you can choose the fillings, sauce, but it didnt say what sauces they had, so I am guessing the usual tomato, cheese, mustard etc.

Even if food is not an option, the drinks would be an option to me, Grape smoothie sounds interesting, Apple honey, and exciting sodas such as Peach, Strawberry.

The price for the sodas are quite reasonable too for $10. The smoothies are also quite cheap for $15 too, usually they are at least $30 or more. They even have milkshake too, but not sure what standard they are.

I hope next time I visit, their fries are still at that standard, not overcooked, and their frying oil is kept fresh.

Refreshing lime water @ 山地人越南法包專門店 MR. Vietnamese Baguette House

After a delicious satisfying burger from Toppings, I was a bit thirsty so saw some drinks here, either young coconut or lime water.

Anyway I picked the lime water, it was displayed nicely in the drinks counter, already prefilled, with a wedge of lime in the cup.
It tasted nicer than expected, no artificially cordial syrup taste to it.

Not too sour or too sweet, and it was very refreshing.

Their menu was pretty much the same since I last came, so nothing new on the menu for me to try.

Cuttlefish burger @ Toppings

The cuttlefish patty is also hand made by them too. Inside the cuttlefish patty, it contained bits of sweetcorn, and to my amazement I found some caraway seeds that gave it some texture and spice to it.

Everything is the same as before, you can choose the toppings and sauce yourself.

Still the same good old staff.

Veggie burger @ Delaney's

I am now on a second burger craving since last year.

At Delaney’s I have tried almost everything, from roast, fish and chips, Irish pancakes, and now the Veggie Burger.

Served with potato wedges, or Jacket potato, the Veggie patty is coated in fine breadcrumbs, with mashed bits of broccoli, potato, slight cheese, and carrot shreds.
When it came, the patty looked huge, due to a pocket of hot air that expanded during the process of being deep-fried. I deflated it with my fork. However the burger was still piping hot, so beware.

The potato wedges were a bit dry and over cooked. The veggie burger was ok, the patty contents were soft and creamy, only the coating had been overdone. Slightly too greasy.

Poor food @ Ada 精美小食

I never intended to try food from this place, firstly I rarely get food from street stalls, they tend to be so dirty and the staff are not that friendly. I feel that they are more concerned on customer turnover than service or quality.

Anyway, I decided to give it a try on a quiet saturday, ordered the rice rolls with spring onions and dried shrimps.

Obviously the staff, are not good with the sauce, or care how they give it to their customers, sauce was all over the bag, on the top of the lid too, so I got sauce all over the table.
I really dont know why people can get food from these places.

Anyway, there were bits of black stuff in the rice rolls, they were too soft.
The rice roll texture was not smooth, but lumpy and porous.
