天與地中華料理 Heaven On Earth

This restaurant has always been mysterious to me, firstly its name, and the picture, but when you get to Knutsford Terrace, you realise it a restaurant amongst the pubs there.

Heaven on Earth is a subsidiary of The King Parrot group, so the food tastes roughly the same as its other restaurants, that are under different names, there is a slight variation in dishes offered here.

Ordered:
Taiwanese bamboo vermicelli
stir-fried fun pay
Clams in Wine
Beef with pancake wraps
Fried eggwhites

The bamboo vermicelli tasted a bit plain, same with the fun pay, the clams in wine were the best, as there were alot of clams in the soup with wine, slight bitterness in it, but went well with the mushrooms.
Also ordered the fried eggwhites desserts, tasted ok, first time to have it filled with taro ice-cream, since its usually red beans, mango or plain ice-cream.

Chinese food @ 鳳城酒家 Fung Shing Restaurant

Came here for a gathering, ordered a dinner set, with the usual soup, chicken, tofu, vegetables, stir fried vegetables.
The only thing that was a bit different and I havent tried before was the cook milked in curd/egg form.

I was hesitant to give it a try, because I assumed it would be sweet, but it was savory, with bits of crab in it. Actually I was wondering if its meant to be that Shanghai egg white dish with crabmeat.

Anyway dessert was included, heart shaped marshmallows (only 6, could have have been more for a table of 12), the sago pudding was a bit too sweet, and the tapioca pearls were over cooked and like a thick paste with the pudding.

Tri-coloured grass jelly @ Chung Kee Dessert 松記糖水

Quite good to find another dessert place that is not so traditional with the sweet soups and red beans.

Ordered the tri-coloured grass jelly, a mix of clear, white and black, the clear ones are basically agar jelly, and the white ones have a slight almond banana taste, and the black or the original ones.
I left the black ones, because there was a slight sour taste in it.

Lemon water chestnut: never tried water chestnut with bits of egg, but this time gave it a try with lemon, all because of lemon, I was surprised it wasnt nastily sweet. The water chestnuts were there, giving it a crunchy note, however it could be improved because they can be peeled better instead of leaving the brown skin on it.
The lemon was not really strong, only the bitter rind taste, I think if real lemon juice was extracted and mixed it with it would taste more lemoney.

Glutinous rice and ice-cream, just the ususal taste, with the coldness and sweetness from the ice-cream.
