Tea eggs 茶葉蛋 @ Hung Fook Tong

Havent had a tea eggs in a while so decided to get some.
One had an open crack that the sauce was able to seep in during its time in the pot, and the other was not severely cracked.
I preferred the cracked one because the taste was stronger and saltier, while the other one was much more bland.

There was a hint of soy sauce and star anise in the egg.

I found this review really interesting by ilovedisneyland so decided to post it here because the dimsum has a theme.

I do not quite know what is it, but it is about Chinese history however I do not know if it is real history or a fictional story.

是兩隻栗蓉餡的蒸麵團,  條橋是豆沙窩餅。

桃園三結義$30...是以劉備,關羽,張飛而成的。
劉備(黃色)是蒸奶黃包;
關羽(綠色)是蒸紅豆包;
張飛(紫色)是蒸蓮蓉包。
包子上的鬍子是由黑芝麻做的呢! 紅豆味的蒸包子(關羽)不是太好吃啊!

草船借箭$30...
箭是由春卷而成的。春卷的餡料跟其他春卷的餡料不同,
它是用了蝦滑,蝦膏和芝士做成的。

三英戰呂布$30...三英戰呂布中的三英指劉備, 關羽, 張飛。
其實你們的確是看到包子上的字: 劉、 關、 張、 呂, 以為他們分別不同, 但其實他們一點也沒有分別,因為他們都是 雞-肉-包 ,這個雞肉包其實同普遍的雞肉包一樣都是有雞肉及雜菌

八陣圖$32...這個八陣圖顏色主要是黑和白色。普遍的黑白色甜品都是黑芝麻糕和椰汁糕,但是這個甜品是黑芝麻糕和杏仁糕。好吃到我目瞪口呆shocked

水淹七軍$38...它是用了七種不同的顏色的水餃來當做七軍,但是水餃都是普遍的豬肉蔬菜水餃。湯底很清。

Cool burger bus stop in the United States

Chocolate tarts and egg tarts @ Maxim's

Chocolate Tarts:
I think this was quite weird because it is called a chocolate tart but the inside is filled with chocolate cake.
Anyway, the whole thing was chocolate coloured, even the base of the tart was chocolate coloured.
It was very messy to eat because chocolate on the top melted.
The tart and the cake in the middle was too dry and the sweetness itself was too sweet that you could not taste the cake or the chocolate flavouring.
There were chocolate crunchy toppings on top which make it feel even drier with the dry cake.
Personally I would have preferred a cherry or no topping at all.

Egg Tarts:
The egg tarts were acceptable, but the crust let it down, it was made with lard that had a horrible smell.
It was so strong that the smell came back up from burping!

To Try: 曾記

Located near "Sheung Hing Chiu Chau Restaurant" across "Lin Heung Kui".

(1) Board any tram that goes towards the Sheung Wan/ Kennedy Town direction and alight at the "Queens Street Station". The Queens Street Market is just across the road.

(2) If you decide to take the MTR:

a) alight at Sheung Wan MTR exit C (Exit A2 is faster, but it's a bit more complicated), turn left;

b) walk along Connaught Road, right past the Western Market, until you arrive at the junction of Des Voeux Road West; then

c) turn left, and walk two blocks, past two streets (Wing Lok Street and Bonham Strand West), the third street will be Queens Street.

d) Turn left and you'll see a small escalator bringing you to Tsang Kee and ABC!

It's about a 10-15 minutes walk.
