Char kway teow is flat rice noodles stir-fried over very high heat with light and dark soy sauce, chilli, a small quantity of belachan, whole prawns, deshelled cockles, bean sprouts and chopped Chinese chives. The dish may commonly be stir-fried with egg, slices of Chinese sausage and fishcake, and less commonly with other ingredients. Char kway teow is traditionally stir-fried in pork fat, with crisp croutons of pork lard, and commonly served on a piece of banana leaf on a plate.
The char kway teow in Kampar, Perak, Malaysia, is served with cockles but with no prawns (although prawns may be available on request). According to old Kampar char kway teow sellers, this is because Kampar was not near any source of fresh prawns. Kampar char kway teow is also slightly sour.
There are also "gourmet" versions of char kway teow, commonly found in Ipoh and Penang, where the dish may be prepared with more seafood, with crab meat[1] and with duck eggs.

The one I tried at this shop had most of the traditional elements such as chinese chives, stir fried eggs and fishcake.
I really liked the freshly chopped spring onions on top of the noodles because it gave it a really nice taste.
It had a really nice thick sauce without that oilyness taste of the pan.

Delicious coconut egg white munchies @ Orchid Padaria
I have always been a fan of Orchid Padaria Bakery but their shops were located in the New Territories or KCR stations which is not in my path.
Now they have a few shops in the city which is really good.
Previously I have tried their sawdust puddings and they were good.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This time when I went in, there were quite a few interesting items such as the cheese triangles, and macarons.
The cheese triangles can be bought in packs or in twos.
Anyway in UK we have Dairylea so it would be interesting to try a different brand that is not imported in the UK.
I really regretted not getting some.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I spotted some bite size snacks which looked like mini coconut macaroons which are not to be confused with the French Macarons as seen in the above picture.
Coconut macaroons are really sweet snacks made with lots of coconut, almond and starch which gives it firmess.
The ones here looked light and they are called Coconut and egg whites and a bit like baked meringues.
When I opened the packet, I could instantly smell the coconut which was really nice.
I loved the size of them.
Anyway, the taste was great, it was not too sweet but it got sweeter after I had quite a few.
It had the same texture as crispy meringue and there was so much dessicated coconut in it.
If you leave them for a while, the humidity will make them chewy and they also tasted gorgeous chewy, so I am going to get another pack and deliberately leave it in the open for a while to make them chewy.

Cute miniature novelty sushi @ Tokyo Tukiji Nakayo
[In my case I consumed these before the OR gathering at DLS along and some cakes at Kings bakery, but this restaurant has just been listed so thats why this review is a little old].
The size of these sushis are merely bigger than a one dollar coin, and smaller than the sachets of sauce!!
Because of their size, it was fun just popping them in my mouth!
