Black truffle and mushroom quiche

Previously Pacific Coffee only had two quiches but now they have quite a few flavours.

Tried the Black truffle and mushroom quiche.

The truffle taste was evidently truffle essence and the mushrooms were disappointing because they put Asian Shitaake mushrooms and enoki mushrooms.

McDonald's Justice league Superman burger

After the successful Batman burger, Hong Kong's McDonalds have launched the Superman burger.

This time it is a chicken burger, so non beef eaters won't be left out.
It is bun dusted with crushed oats with a slice of processed cheese, crispy chicken patty, two slices of bacon, lettuce and honey mustard sauce.
For sides, it comes with potato cheese balls and Bubblegum Mcfloat which is a blue drink that comes in a Superman cup.

Before we talk about food, lets have a look at the cool boxes.

The burger box was a bit boring but the box for the potato cheese balls was really nice because it had the Superman logo with a diecut so that you can press out the edges of the logo and the same goes with the burger box but Superman's hair is not that attractive.

At the bottom of the box, it is printed with the copyright.

Now, I will go on about the taste of the food!!

Superman burger : Honey Mustard Chicken:

The chicken patty was really nice and juicy but the honey mustard sauce was too sweet and ruined the
burger. I would have liked the mustard to be stronger but it wasn't.

Potato cheese balls:

I really disliked the potato cheese balls because it was processed cheese in the middle.

Bubblegum McFloat:

The drink tasted artificial but then that was expected.

Taro Pie:

The taro pie was sweet and starchy.

The Superman burger is part of the Justice league series so lets see what they have in store for the Green lantern and The Flash.

A nice relaxing joint for food at Americanos

Found out that there was a new joint in town so decided to check it out.

This place serves burritos and coffee.

For the drink I had the cucumber and lime was which cooling and sweet but the sharpness of the lime was not there.

rice bowl:

I had the DIY bowl which lets you choose up to four items so I chose cabbage and carrot slaw, fresh tomatoes with onions, cilantro and lime, cheese and shiitake mushrooms.
The chicken was tender and tasty with a charred taste but I didn't like the rice they used because it was similar to pearl rice.
Overall, it was quite tasty especially the black beans but the portion was a bit small.

arroz con leche:

This was rice pudding which was thick and delicious with a hint of cinnamon.
The grains of rice were big and hard.

Vegetable soup at Ovocafe

I was expecting this place to be quiet around 6pm but it wasn’t.

Anyway, settled for the vegetable soup.

Vegetable soup:

I got the soup because when I saw the soup it had leaves on top which I thought were basil, but they were actually spinach leaves.
The soup could have been tastier because you could only taste potatoes and celery.
Perhaps putting tomatoes, onions or cabbage in the soup could give it more flavour.

Toasted cheese and mushroom sandwich

On my previous visit, the toasted cheese was not that good because they put a mixture of two cheeses.

Anyway, the latest review had mushrooms in it and the cheese was decent so I went back for the cheese toast and added mushrooms as well.

This was sensational because the cheese was soft and gooey with tasty slices of mushrooms in it.
The toast was slightly burnt but the cheese was just amazing that it was forgivable.
Hopefully, the cheese will be consistent on my next visit.

Ramen X Takeaway from Rasupemen

Although this ramen joint has closed, you can still get ready to eat Ramen by Rasupermen because they have pop-up stalls every now and again.

Each ramen is conveniently boxed and comes with instructions, broth, noodles, bamboo shoots, half boiled egg, spring onions etc.


All you have to do is heat the broth, add the noodles and the rest of the contents.


The noodles were hard because I like them hard, so with these takeaway kits you can control how soft you want the noodles and the broth was rich and tasty.

Buffet with endless red and white house wine at IP cafe

For wine lovers, they will love this place because it is unlimited.

The buffet price is ok and they have free parking subject to availability.

Anyway, I don't drink alcohol so I was there for the food and it was only a 10 minute walk from Sheung Wan MTR.
The food selection was better this time and it was good getting away from the crowd.









A good selection of cheese, the Brie and Edam were the best.

The pork knuckles in sweet vinegar were soft and gelatinous.

Tried the Peking duck with pancakes which was also good.

They also had robatayaki as well.
I tried the mushroom which was grilled to perfection and smothered in a sweet sauce.

To finish off I had a nourishing Chinese herbal soup.
