Went here again because my friends wanted to try the icecream with the syringe which I tried earlier.
There were two more different flavours this time so tried it as well.
The lemon cake which I was hoping to try was sold out so tried the yuzu cheesecake and the tropical cheesecake.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Yuzu cheesecake: and the Tropical cheesecake:
Both were dense and creamy, but I preferred the tropical because it had a stronger taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Apple crumble:
It was just as nice as before and the taste of the icecream was milky which went well with the delicious apple pieces
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Gingerbread:
There was a strong ginger and cinnamon taste but it was quite sweet

Not Swiss cheese but Swiss noodles!
This was my second visit and things have improved.
On this visit, I found out why they were called Foxtail & Broomcorn because two of the earliest grain varieties used in noodles were called Foxtail and Broomcorn.
I really like this place because it is headed by a Swiss guy so the food has been improved to be less oily which is exactly how I feel about Chinese food.
Another great example is Man Mo Cafe which serves dim sums headed by another Swiss guy.
The decor here is modern and stylish.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Started with House made fruit tea that was gently sweetened and it had tones of orange, grapefruit and apple in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
For starters we had Spicy pulled pork and cucumber which I thoroughly enjoyed because the pulled pork was lean and spicy.
Traditionally it is served with fatty pork slices called white meat which I don't eat.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
The next starter was even more delicious because I love Indian spices, it was Tandoori fishcake with sesame sauce and apple salsa HKD35.
The fishcakes were delightful to eat.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tokyo: Fresh ramen noodles paired with Harissa beef ribs in a hearty chicken broth (HKD 78).
Did not try this!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Hoi An: Inspired by Vietnamese bún chả, Hoi An features shirataki noodles topped with a slow-cooked vanilla salmon (HKD 98).
Taipei: Shanghainese noodles topped with a 5-spice confit of pork in a Taiwanese sauce (HKD 68).
Gurney: An adaptation of Malaysia’s famous Hae Mee, Gurney consists of yellow Hokkien noodles
served in a rich pork and prawn broth topped with spicy sambal pulled pork and poached tiger prawns, garnished with home-made sambal (HKD 88).
Kansai: For vegan diners, Kansai consists of thick udon in a mushroom-soy dashi, topped with sautéed mushrooms and tofu hambaagu (HKD 68).
Since my last visit, the tofu pattes have improved, you could taste the earthy mushrooms as well as the tofu.
The broth has a sweet taste to it
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kuen Dadar:
These were pandan pancakes filled with coconut, a great dessert for people who like coconut.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pecan cake with salted caramel:
I will be back for lunch because apparently you can choose the noodles with a choice of broth.
To summarize my favourites here are:
noodles: somen
appetizer: Tandoori fish cake
broth: prawn broth
dessert: pecan cake
drink: fruit tea

Hoi An: Inspired by Vietnamese bún chả, Hoi An features shirataki noodles topped with a slow-cooked vanilla salmon (HKD 98).
This was my favourite because the salmon was soft and delicate, the noodles beneath it were mixed with a garlicky vinegar dressing that tastes like the sauce used in Thai style chicken feet.
I would like the dressing to be more acidic though.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Taipei: Shanghainese noodles topped with a 5-spice confit of pork in a Taiwanese sauce (HKD 68).
This was another dish I really liked because they improved it by using chunks of pork and not minced pork, each strand of noodle was covered in thick delicious sweet sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Gurney: An adaptation of Malaysia’s famous Hae Mee, Gurney consists of yellow Hokkien noodles
served in a rich pork and prawn broth topped with spicy sambal pulled pork and poached tiger prawns, garnished with home-made sambal (HKD 88).
This was the best broth because it had a strong prawn and shellfish taste.

Pecan cake with salted caramel:
As I have Western tastebuds, I liked this one because it was soft with pecans in it and the caramel sauce was not too sweet.

Great teas from Happy Lemon
Finally tried Happy Lemon because I was in the area and this branch is better than the MK branch because it is spacious with good lighting.
The drinks menu was quite interesting, they had fruit teas and wacky stuff like tea with cream cheese.
I had the tea flower melon tea.
When it came, you could see wedges of lemon and a teabag in the drink.
Natural flavourings!!
The drink was surprisingly good because it wasn't too sweet and it had a strong tea which was slightly bitter with a sweet after tone.
There was no melon taste even though it is called a melon tea.

The tea bag was impressive because it meant that they don't use tea powder so it made me curious how they got the tea flavour in a cold drink because tea bags need to be steeped in hot water.

Jenny Bakery's cranberry nougats
Jenny Bakery is so famous for cookies that they limit two tins of cookie per customer.
As well as cookies, they have cranberry nougats.
珍妮曲奇 - Jenny Bakery's cranberry nougats are nice with pieces of tart cranberries in it but i found them too buttery for my palate.

Icecream at Icepop
Went again for icecream and this time had the Belgian chocolate and apple crumble but I requested for no crumbles because I found it too buttery.
The chocolate was rich with a slight bitterness and the apple was as good as ever because the taste of the icecream was light and not too sweet.

Beans and carrots at La Rotisserie
Every time I walk past this place, I am always captivated by that delicious smell of roast chicken.
This time I could not resist their roast potatoes.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Roast potatoes with beans and carrots:
As usual, the roast potatoes are perfectly roasted with a soft fluffy centre and a tasty potato skin.
The beans were slightly chewy and dry but the baby carrots were sweet with a hint of butter.

New vegetarian dishes at Sooo Vegi!
Since my last visit, there have been new items added on the menu.
They have vegetarian sushi sets too in the fridge.
Burdock white fungus tea plant mushroom soup $20:
This is a new soup and I think it tastes nicer than the monkey head mushroom they had before because it has earthy tree mushrooms and white fungus which make the taste richer and stronger.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fried tofu skin rolls in creamy sweetcorn sauce $42:
The tofu rolls with sweetcorn was a really good vegetarian alternative because the tofu skin rolls are healthy and it goes really well with the sweetcorn sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Rice with fried egg and vegetarian minced meat bolognese sauce:
This has now become my favourite dish because I used to order the spaghetti bolognese and have the pasta changed to rice so this dish is the same but with an extra fried egg as well.
The best thing is the fried egg because it is cooked on a non meat pan so it does not have any weird smell or taste and the egg white is nice and crispy too on the edges.
