Got the grilled saury fish set which came with soup, salad and rice.
Unfortunately, the fish seemed like it had been in an accident because every bone was broken which made it difficult to eat because you had to spit out shards of bones in every mouthful.

Cute NY style food truck spotted at Festival Walk
When I first heard of this joint I wasn't sure what it was because the name The Lobintan sounded strange.
After seeing photos from fellow foodies, I realized it was a food truck.
After seeing photos from fellow foodies, I realized it was a food truck.
The truck is brightly coloured in black and yellow which reminds me of New York and the food boxes are the same style as the US Chinese takeaway boxes with the cute handle.
It was a cold day so I had the mock sharks fin soup and fried fish shaomai.
The fish shaoai was really impressive because they were fried with an airfryer which makes them healthy as only a drop of oil is needed.
The Shaomai was really crispy and delicious.

After that, had the mock sharks fin soup which was really nice especially with the vinegar, white pepper and sesame oil.
The black fungus and tofu skin were really filling.
This is a really good joint for street snacks in a clean and air conditioned environment served in clean dishes with a neat seating area.

Rice and peas at Mandy's Caribbean Bar and Restaurant
Had a craving for rice and peas so went to Mandy's for a quick fix.
The rice was soft and fluffy with so much fragrant Thyme and starchy Kidney beans.
The rice is tasty on its own or best with Mandy's curry or Jerk chicken.

Huge Jammie dodgers!!
If your British then you should be very familiar with the Jammie Dodger biscuit.
"Jammie Dodgers are a popular British biscuit, made from shortbread with a raspberry flavoured jam filling. They are currently produced by Burton's Biscuit Company at its factory in Llantarnam. In 2009, Jammie Dodgers were the most popular children's sweet biscuit brand in the United Kingdom, with 40% of the years' sales consumed by adults." quoted from Wiki.
Anyway, I walked past this Chinese cafe and saw these oversized Jammie Dodgers and Palmiers!!!!
If you see the size of the JD on my hand, then you can imagine how big that Palmier was!!

Chinese Jammie Dodger:
I didn't expect it to taste nice but it was fun eating it!!
The Chinese version had apricot jam in the middle but between the biscuit there was not enough jam so it was a bit tasteless.
If would also taste nice if they used Malt sugar syrup because it is sweet and chewy which would go well with the tasteless biscuit but it was good that it wasn't buttery.
Apart from that, I really liked it and I wished I got the huge palmier too.

Went here for a quick drink.

Sparkling oolong tea:
Had my favourite sparkling oolong tea which had icecream on top and refreshing oolong tea jelly at the bottom.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Broccoli and sausage pizza:
The pizza was thin as a cracker so it was nice and light topped with broccoli florets and sausages.
It would be good if it was Western sausages and not Asian style sausages.

Happy Monday at Dijaya
I was having dinner nearby but we were really early so decided to have a drink while we were waiting for the rest of the group.
My friend suggested Dijaya which is located at No.8 Minden Avenue, only half minute's walk from the MTR Station & Nathan Road. She was obviously familiar with the bars because she said there was a Monday night promotion for 3 cocktails which was a perfect deal for the three of us!
Apart from that, there was a Happy hour deal too.
Christmas deal:
We were greeted with a classy chic entrance.
As it was early, the place was empty so we got to choose where to sit.
They have these round cozy compartments.
There was a curvy bar table, great for watching the bartender show their cocktail skills.
At the front of the bar, there is a lounge area where you can take your shoes off and crash out.
At the back, there was more seating.
There was also a private room where the sofas can be rearranged to suit bigger groups.
We sat at the cozy round compartments because it was a good place to chat and I liked the glistening disco ball that was above us.
After we settled down, they gave us the snack menu and suggested a wine for us.
The menu was surprisingly extensive because it varied from chicken wings to oyster platters.
There was pizza and pasta on the menu too.
We were having dinner afterwards so we stuck to our original plan which was the Happy Monday offer.
The bartender was really helpful because we were not sure what cocktails to choose so he helped us with our choices by asking our preferences.
We all had different preferences, I went for the sour option, my friend opted for the sweet and the other friend chose a fruity drink!
After a while our drinks came so cheers to Happy Monday!!
Our colourful trio of cocktails!!
Here comes the different drinks that we had:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green garden:
This drink had lychee, mint, apple juice, lychee wine and rum.
It was sweet with a prominent lychee taste and a slight sour aftertaste.
My friend liked it because the mint was not that strong with a fragrant lychee taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Dijaya mocktail:
This drink was made for me because it was nice and refreshing with a mix of pineapples, lemons and apples.
A great drink for putting me in the mood for dinner.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Berry Berry:
My sweetie friend had the berry berry which was a sweet mix of strawberry, blueberry, lime and cranberry, definitely the drink for her because she is girly and fun!
I also tried this drink and it had a prominent strawberry and cranberry taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
When we finished the drinks, the guys were arriving so we quickly paid the bill and went to the next location.
It was definitely a good place to relax and we would have stayed longer if we didn't have dinner.
Overall, I was impressed with this bar because it was clean and a comfortable place for hanging out with friends.
