Stylish place on Chancery Lane! [Cafe d'i]

Saw this place listed on openrice so searched it on FB and saw really stylish photos of this place.

This place looks even better at night with the illuminated logo at the front.

Arrived at this place and the tables were really colourful.

They have skincare products for sale too.

Anyway, the menu was good, they had croissants, muesli and breakfast and the prices were quite a good deal for its location.

The muesli is evidently popular because everyone was ordering it.

I tried some and it was really good because there were lots of ingredients in it like raisins and there was some fresh fruit on top too.

all day breakfast:

The breakfast portion was a bit too much for me because it had four slices of toast, sliced ham, bacon, sausages, scrambled egg and baked beans.
The star of the breakfast was the scrambled egg because it was fluffy and tasty.

It is nice to see that they have engraved the logo on the cutlery and the metal tab on the table.

Taxillus Chinensis Tea with Lotus Seed & Egg 海王漁港

Didn't really take photos of dinner because it was the usual Chinese stuff ie Chicken, fish and roast.
We had desserts after dinner which not really my cup of tea but they had Taxillus Chinensis Tea with Lotus Seed & Egg.

Taxillus Chinensis is a weird name, but if you google it that is what you get!!
Anyway, I didn't really like it because it just tasted sweet and bitter.
The red date puddings were chewy and too sweet with that weird red date smell.

The dessert menu:

Taiwanese o'CASA

Tried this new restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

They serve Taiwanese food but the décor is modern and does not look Taiwanese.
I am quite confused why they are called o'CASA which means house in Spanish.
From the logo, the "o" looks like a cup handle.
There is another restaurant in Sai Kung called CASA with the house logo as well serving tapas.
For food we tried the oyster rice which was tasteless and I didn’t like it because they used pearl rice, the noodles fared better but they were not outstanding.

The toast was ok but I don’t like black sesame.

Korean fare at Hong Kong Day!!!

After seeing Isaac’s review with red rice on a sizzling metal plate I decided to investigate it.
When I got there, it turns out that they are doing some Korean dishes.

There is a choice of American beef chuck with red pearl rice, Netherlandish sliced pork belly with red pearl rice or Stir fried Korean glass noodles.

There was also stewed chicken with ginseng or stewed meatballs that comes with kimchi and stir fried rice cakes.

I ordered the American beef chuck with red pearl rice and the stewed chicken with ginseng.
The food came in a flash.

American beef chuck with red pearl rice:

The sizzling plate had paper round to protect your clothes when you mix the rice.
There were two sauces that came with it and one was spicy and the other tasted like sweet bbq sauce with a hint of spiciness.

After mixing it up, it was ready to eat.

The rice was great because some was crispy after it got sizzled by the hot metal plate and the strong bbq sauce flavours and the beef tasted great together.
There was lots of beanshoots and vegetables in it that gave it a nice balance with the rice and beef.

stewed chicken with ginseng:

This stewed dish was amazing because the chicken broth was strong and there is a whole piece of ginseng in it.
There was a whole chicken leg and lots of red dates in the stew and the chicken was extremely soft and supple.

At the bottom, there was glutinous rice which gave the soup a thick texture.

Rice cakes and kimchi:

These are a must in Korean food and they were very spicy which gives you that whole Korean experience.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Citron tea:

The citron tea was sweet and soothing, a great way to end the meal.

Hong Kong Day:

Better service needed at Kinsale

Before the MTR was available, I attempted to dine here in Aug 2014 but when I got to the entrance no one served me and the waitresses for busy ignoring me so I left.
The lunch and brunch hours are short and I was told that the brunch had finished even though it was still brunch hours.

Anyway, this place is really noisy so don't expect a quiet lunch or brunch.
Ordered bubble and squeak which seems to be the only place in HK that serves it after Harringtons closed.
Unfortunately, the bubble and squeak was salty as hell.

Trick Eye Museum Hong Kong experience

Thanks to Trick Eye marketing for sending me tickets to the Trick Eye Museum in Hong Kong.

There are photo examples to show how you can interact and there are spots marked on floor to guide you where to stand when taking the photos.
In the museum, there are five different sections:
World of Masterpieces
Great Adventure
Neverland
HONG KONG DISCOVERY

I had a wonderful experience and here are the great photos at the museum.
