2020 with Kee Wah Sausages

It's drawing near winter finally, so if you're a local, it is time for hotpots, snake soup and preserved sausages.
At Kee Wah, they have traditional sausages.
There are two types: Chinese sausages and liver sausages.
Both taste great steamed with soy sauce served with rice.
The liver sausages are my favourite because they are like Chinese black pudding while the Chinese sausages are like Chinese chorizos!

McDonald's bacon double cheeseburger from the Saver's menu

I was captivated by the new spicy quarter pounder but then I ended up getting the McDonald's bacon double cheeseburger from the Saver's menu because I have not tried it before.
It consists of two 100% beef patties, two rashers of Beechwood smoked bacon, two slices of cheese, onions, pickles, mustard and tomato ketchup, all in a soft bun.
Overall, I liked it especially the bacon which gave it an extra salty kick.
The bacon wasn't crispy but it was nice and lean.

Noodles from Phoenix Takeaway in Mitcham

I am always trying Chinese takeaways because I am addicted to noodles.
Tried the chicken noodles twice from Phoenix Chinese Take Away which were a bit soft.
I think there must be two chefs as once it was ok, the other time was too oily.
Same with the Singapore noodles which were oily.
The curries are bland, oily and somehow powdery in texture.
Overall, ok but the noodles were too soft.

Tesco's properly in Hong Kong

Rewind a decade, H&M and Zara were icons in Central, but a few years later H&M had to survive elsewhere with Topshop just arriving to the hood. Sadly Topshop will be closing soon.

Soon after that HMV went bust and the scene in Central changed dramatically.

We saw the rise and fall of Dragon noodles as well as Flamingo Bloom.

Now in 2020, Central finally has a U Select at The L Place while there is Donki at 100QRC.

It feels like Donki has truly brought the local crowd over because they just adore their Japanese goods.

For me, I am glad that U Select has been recognized in city areas like Central and Wanchai because it offers products from Tescos at reasonable prices.

It is interesting how English goods are always costing three times the price when the exchange rate is almost 1GBP to 10HKD since Brexit.

What Da Duck! Finally CRISPY AROMATIC DUCK in Hong Kong!

I am so elated you can now get Crispy Aromatic Duck in Hong Kong.
Before this place opened, I used to go to Marks and Spencers and Charlie's place where the owners used to have a takeaway in UK.
There is nothing that tastes like aromatic duck because it is so different to Peking duck which I got confused when I came to Hong Kong, I couldn't work out why people were just eating the skin and why the sauces were sweet.
Anyway, now that What Da Duck is in Hong Kong, you've got to try their duck and prawn sesame toasts.
I am glad there are so many people loving it as much as I do!
Interestingly the font they used in the logo reminds me of PINOT DUCK which used to be Wan Chai and Stanley.

South London Vegan Market at Surrey Street Market every Sundays 10am-4pm

The South London Vegan Market has suddenly appeared and it is every Sunday from 10-4pm.
It is strange because there was no noise and this is the second week already.
There are lots of familiar faces from Spitalfields.

At the stalls, there is something for everyone starting with decadent cakes from Sweet Tooth London

Artisan Philippine Cooking Sauces, chilly products and preserves from @ronib_kitchen

Colourful burgers at @itshandsomemom

Delicious crepes from @queenofthecrepes

Tofish from @unitydiner

My favourite stall had to be the JahBean with the TearJerker Bagel!
