Jacket potatoes from Old Skool Foods Truck, Croydon

Spotted this spanking new sparkling silver food truck called Old Skool Foods hence I had to go over and have a look.
Initially I was disappointed when I just saw hot dogs on the menu for old school food but it turns out they have jacket potatoes as well.
Went back a few days later for a jacket and got chicken curry with it.
Also had some cheese on top which totally won me because it is proper cheddar and not the cheese blend which two jacket places were using.
Cheddar is the tastiest in comparison to melty gooey tri coloured cheese blends.
Anyway will be back for plain with cheese or chili con carne.
Visually, the jacket looks nice and old school style as well served by lovely people.

Lamb Rice at Tarim Uyghur Restaurant

Another spot for Uyghur food with the usual suspects like - Gosh Legmen, Qoruma Chop, Uyghur Polo etc.
This restaurant is popular with uni students nearbyand Chinese.
There was a lunch deal for 9.95 so had the Polo which is lamb pilaf/pilau.
Overall, it was nice but the lamb was not cooked with the rice which allows flexibility to choose chicken or beef etc.
The lamb pieces were rather dry and one piece was fatty.
It was OK but I've had better.
Also got to try the rice pudding which is very different to the English as it was made with coconut flavours and texture was watery.
Staff there were really friendly.

Light snacks at the Booking office 1869, Renaissance at St Pancras

Light snacks at the Booking office, Renaissance at St Pancras.
Beautiful building and decor.
Only had the cashew houmous because got there quite late so the oysters and tartare wasn't served.
Visually saw someone have the tartare which looked good with all those dark trompette mushrooms on top.
Will return.

Xi’an BiangBiang Noodles have opened at London Bridge

Xiang biang biang specializes in wide hand pulled noodles from xi'an featuring those signature yellow plates and bowls with patterns on them.
There were three branches but now there is a new branch at London Bridge.
Finally tried it as the location was convenient.
It was the third day it opened and it was packed with diners.
Although biang biang is star I had the liang pi which are just as nice.
The chefs there are really good because the spice was just right as expected.
Looking red fiery and angry, the chilled noodles with a chew were delicious owing to the vinegar they used.
Very refreshing on a freezing day.
The pork dumplings were a bit strange.
They should be nice because pork should be aromatic while the sauce makes them moreish but somehow they tasted off.
Anyway will return.

Roti Jala with Dhal curry from Cafe Rasa, Wesfrield Stratford City

Roti Jala, a Malaysian net crepe eaten during tea time with curry/dhal.It was actually very nice and similar to an English shrove Tuesday pancake.
The dal curry was the best I've had as there were onions and other herbs which made it tasty yet not spicy.
I feel that butter chicken would be a good pairing because Malay curry is too spicy and coconutty.
I also dipped it in custard and it was delicious.

Death by the sweetest Chocolate cherry milkshake at Miss Millies

Death by the sweetest Chocolate cherry milkshake at Miss Millies!
There used to be a branch at Walthamstow that opened for a year and didn't last long!
Anyway, this time visited for the chocolate cherry shake at the Weston Super Mare branch and it was literally so sweet that one sip could kill you!
Totally wasted!
Also tried the tenders which were dry.

Lunch at The Brew Bar Lounge, Delta Hotels Marriot, Windsor

Stopped by The Brew Bar Lounge, Delta Hotels Marriot, Windsor for lunch.
Food took ages to arrive but the menu was quite good especially the dessert choices like toffee apple roulade and Baileys Bread and Croissant pudding.
The lamb rump was seriously good if you ask for it to be done right which comes with a goats cheese croquette and salad.
The chicken and apricot terrine which comes with brussel sprout slaw and beetroot bread was a little underwhelming as it was mostly slaw as one would expect more brussel sprouts if it is called that!
