Pandan desserts and drinks at The Leaf, Shoreditch 小叶子

The Leaf, which specializes in drinks and desserts were a success at Holborn food hub that they have branched out to Gravesend and Shoreditch.
I was overwhelmed by the drink choices as it was not just bubble tea!
They had two long drink lists for avocado and pistachio!!
It was really hard deciding between avocado and pistachio but luckily I spotted this avocado and pistachio drink and swapped the caramel pearls for my favourite pandan jelly!!!
The drink was really good so I finished it which was rare.
With a pistachio drink, one would expect it to be made with pistachio powder but it contained chunky crushed pistachio nuts and then you got this savoury avocado which was heaven.
Overall, pistachio and avocado were a good pairing because they were both savoury.
My favourite pandan jelly was lush and not too sweet so definitely ordering this drink again.
Also tried the peanut milk because they ran out of the chestnut milk and it was interesting and nothing like peanut butter.
For dessert, we had the pandan and grass jelly tofu pudding which was lush and not too sweet.
I would have been happy with just the pandan jelly.
A year later, they have opened in Shoreditch, so gave them a visit.
As it was newly opened, most of the stuff was not available so I just had the pandan tofu which was quite nice.
You could really taste the soy in the tofu with a hint of pandan.
The menu at the shop has a few typos though.

Newly opened EL&N Deli & Bakery in July at Covent Gardens

Tried it one evening and the pastry was good as well as the tea selection from Metz.
The fresh focaccias selection looked good as well as the cakes which reminded me of Leto.
I had the raspberry squiggle which was like a pain au chocolat with chocolate folded in and one side which makes it look like red velvet.

Finnigans fish and grill Sutton

Edible but not wow and expensive.
The frying oil had a strange taste but when it cooled down they were ok with sauces.
The fish batter was too thin.

Sakura mochi from Niji, Spitalfields

Another place for mochi, born in Spain, inspired by Japan.
These are modern with flavours like chocolate cherry, alcoholic etc and classic Japanese flavours like Sakura all filled with mousse.
Tried the sakura which is light and not too sweet.
However they are on the pricey side though.

Chicken peanut satay rice box at Leon Restaurants

Another tasty rice box from Leon, this time it was satay chicken in a delicious peanutty sweet sauce.

Iced matcha lychee at Noxy Brothers

Not a fan of matcha but it was nice as it didn't have any milk.
The lychee in it was quite refreshing and not as boring as other pairings.

The Chicken & Bacon BBQ BIG SMOKE burger and Chargrilled burger by Leon

I was definitely impressed by this smoky yet moist chargrilled chicken thigh topped with LEON BBQ sauce, aioli pink slaw, bacon, gherkins and pink kraut.
There was so much going on from the tangy slaw and pickles to the punchy BBQ sauce.
The other star was the bacon as you get proper back bacon which does more in terms of being substantial than the American style bacon which is just fat and the bacon get shrivelled up.
A bit pricey at 8.45 but it was worth it.

The Chargrilled burger with chicken thigh, creamy tarragon mayo, fresh tomato relish, crisp salad leaves, and pickled gherkins in a golden sourdough bun.
