Lostermania, How can I not come back?

It was my was first time at the Opera House Italian Restaurant & Bistrot Presents because of the Winter Lobster Saturday Brunch Buffet.
Basically it costs $468 per person starting from 12:30 and finishes at 3:30.
It might be quite heavy for Saturday but the food is top notch.
They have pasta, pizza, steak, and roast suckling pig as well.

Starting with lobsters, there was:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster Carpaccio with Extra Olive Oil & Lemon Dressing:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster Tartar with Asparagus & Bell Pepper Sauce:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster Salad with Avocado & Corn Salsa
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cream Lobster Soup
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
For Italian starters, there was Buratta chesse and fresh Italian tomatoes and sweet melon.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster baked in four different homemade sauces inspired by cheese, pumpkin, basil and tomatoes.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster Egg Benedict with Spinach, sweet lobster with a strong Dutch sauce and poached egg
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Mini Lobster Burger with Truffle Mayonnaise
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Next was the pasta and risotto!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Tortelli with Crab Meat and Lobster
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster ravioli

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster Pasta with Basil
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster Risotto with Cherry Tomato and Mint Sauce
To finish, there was Italian desserts with homemade pistachio gelato and Lobster Panna Cotta!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The pistachio gelato was amazing, the pistachio was natrual and strong and it was not too sweet.

All I can say is that the lobster was divine and so was everything else!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Here was what I had:
My favourite creamy burrata cheese with heirloom tomatoes.
Had these twice because the tomato sauce was tangy and appetizing and the pasta skin was nice and elastic.
 Nice pasta shells stuffed with generous crab and lobster
 The baked lobster and cheese was my favourite because it had proper cheesy cheese!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 Lobster baked with pesto!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 For non cheese lovers, there is lobster wth tomato.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 More lobster and cheese again!~
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Roasted baby suckling pig.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lobster risotto.

Stylish Turkey in Asian style!

I have always wanted to try Mott32 because of the famous roast pork but unexpectedly my first visit was the turkey.

Inside the restaurant, it was like another world.

Mott 32 is actually a Chinese restaurant which is why it is funky serving turkey as a special dish for Thanksgiving and Christmas so people can break the traditional and still have Turkey while having Asian food!

The Free Range BBQ Roasted Turkey menu is available now priced at HKD1,680 to be booked in advanced.
It is served in three ways which makes it special.
The Whole BBQ Roasted Free Range Turkey, which will be carved at the tableside served with pancakes and three homemade sauces: a plum & lemon, fresh garlic and Chef Fung’s secret turkey sauce.

The second style Turkey salad is a combination of papaya, dragon fruit, melon, scallion, red pepper, cashew nuts and a sweet peanut sauce to be mixed at the table.

The last style is Minced Turkey served with Water Chestnut, Mushroom and Bamboo shoots to be eaten on a fresh, crisp lettuce cup.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
My favourite was the Turkey served in Peking style because I love the pancakes and sauce and it gives you a new eating experience.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
The turkey salad was refreshing and it reminded me of Bang Bang chicken.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
For non red meat lovers like me, the minced turkey was ideal because Turkey tastes so much better stir fried with the finely chopped water chestnuts, mushrooms and bamboo shoots.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
To finish off, we had icecream which was another mind boggling experience! SOY SAUCE icecream.
The taste was similar to salted caramel icecream!

Dolci 2/3's second Christmas

It's Dolci 2/3's second Christmas and they have launched some cakes for the festive season.

-Christmas Amore (Lychee & Rose Mousse Cake) – HKD 420

-Yule Log (Grand Marnier Chocolate Roll) –HKD 238

-Rotolo di Fragole (Strawberry Prosecco Roll) – HKD 238 / HKD 60 per slice
-Abies (Apple Cinnamon Mousse Cake) – HKD 48
-Neve (Mixed Berries Cheesecake) – HKD 48

Tried the Abies and Neve which can be indulged alone.

The Abies was delicious light mousse on the outside with delicious crisp pieces of apples in the middle, while the Neve was a rich yet light cheesecake with tart berries in the middle.

The strawberry roll was light, and the strawberry chiffon cake was soft and airy while the cream was infused with Prosecco with a juicy piece of strawberry in the middle.

This year the Christmas gifts were decorative with Christmas tree ornaments containing dragees (red) and chocolate (Navy blue) and the Christmas tin containing individually packaged bite sized Madeleines.

All you can eat at Daieiki

Tried the all you can eat for $198 per person which allows you to dine there for two hours.

When I got there, it was busy but we were allocated a table because we made a reservation by phone earlier.
The tables were quite cramped so we had to order in a few goes to avoid clogging up the table with food.

Here was what we had:
The grilled pineapples were refreshing and tart.

The prawn tempura was crispy

The crab congee was really good because the congee was creamy.

There was a good selection of fried items and my favourite was the sweet taro ball and chicken wings

The sushi and sashimi were good and fresh

The hand rolls were really cute and small so you can try more flavours.
Overall, there is a good selection of food with clear English and Chinese on the ordering form.

Other than coffee at Five Coffee

This place specializes in coffee but I actually came here for food.

Tried it during a weekday because weekends are impossible and they close early in the evenings so if you have to work then it is not possible to try it.

Here was what I had and the bill only came to $98, but then the most expensive ingredient that I had was probably the bacon and mushrooms.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Candy bacon:

This was bacon strips coated in maple syrup and sprinkled with black pepper.
It would have been great if it was British bacon because the one they used was a bit hard and different to the usual bacon.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Toast with caramelized apple:

This was quite nice but I would prefer cooking apples because these apples were not tart enough and it could have done without the butter when they cooked the apples.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Toast with garlic mushrooms

The mushroom toast was simple and good but there was too much garlic in it.

Sausage and chips at chip in

Havent been to Sai Kung for a while because it has some bloody serious annoying transport problems.
Once you get there, you can't leave.

Anyway, managed to travel into SK that day without any trouble so I had to have my favourite chips.
I was lucky that day because Chip In had a food stall at the Hebe market so they had some of my favourite pork sausages.

As usual the chips tasted great with a fluffy centre with a sweet aftertaste and the sausages were great with vinegar!!!

Apparently you can vote for them on some online poll which I havent figured how yet because Eggspectation is also on there too!! So get voting.

Finally tried the famous omelette

Went here because of the omelette, I managed to try this place because I was in the area to buy something.

The omelette is cooked with a stinky herb according to the Chinese menu, and in English it is called Cha-Om according to this travelling-foodies blog.
When it came, I couldn't smell anything abnormal so the herb probably gives off the smell when it is raw.

The only abnormal smell was the chili sauce because the fish sauce has gone smelly.
Anyway, the omelette was fluffy and delicious with lots of Cha-om but it was a bit too salty for my liking.
