Thick cut fries served from now on!!!! @ Burger King

Walked past and noticed that they were serving thick cut fries.
When I went in I realised these thick cut fries have replaced the thin cut fries served before.

It is quite interesting for a well established fast food chain to change their fries, I wonder if it is a global change as well.

Anyway I decided to try them.

Thick cut fries:
Although they are marketed as thick cut, they were not that thick, they were about 7-9 mm in diameter.
The thin fries before were probably around 6-7 mm in diameter.
Since they were slightly thicker than the fries before, it made the fries more substantial, the inside was soft with a slight crispy exterior.
As they were thicker, not much salt remained on the surface of the fries so they were not that salty and I felt that more ketchup was needed to makeup for the taste.
The fries before were tastier but these are also good too because they have a lovely soft center.
Perhap they need an extra pinch of salt.

Caesar Parmesan Chicken Tendergrill - King's Collection

like Caesar salad so tried the Caesar Parmesan chicken tendergrill burger which is part of the King's Collection.

Caesar salad is usually romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper. Others may contain bacon bits such as the caesar salads served at Fat Angelos.

The burger could have been more Caesarized! It was just a panini herb bun, grilled chicken, tomato slices, shaved parmesan, rocket lettuce, caesar sauce and crispy bacon strips.
The whole combination was more like a BLT burger!

I felt that it should have romaine lettuce since it is mimicking Caesar salad and instead of crispy bacon strips they should have sprinkled bacons bits in the burger.

Caesar Parmesan chicken tendergrill
The Caesar dressing was too light and tasteless. The most I could taste from it was some sweetness.
As for the parmesan cheese, there were about three pieces which was also barely tasteable!
Overall in the picture it shows the tomato and being the most dominant.
If I have it again I hope there will be more sauce and parmesan.

Black truffle angus XT - King's Collection

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tempura whopper:
My second time having this burger and the tempura still tastes great.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Black truffle angus:
The black truffle angus was quite nice but the black truffle mayonnaise was too creamy and the black truffle taste was not strong enough to balance out the creamy taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Orange juice:
Although it was labelled as Orange juice it tasted like orange concentrate with sweet syrup to make it sweet.

Apple pie and afternoon tea set @ Burger King

Had one of the tea sets and regretted not getting the croissant as well as I don't know when I can next try the tea set.
There were three sets to choose from: BBQ Chicken Tender Burger, cheese and ham croissant and the fish burger.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
BBQ Chicken Tender Burger:
This burger was sandwiched with three chicken tender strips with mayonnaise and barbecue sauce.
Since it was three pieces of chicken instead of a whole piece there was more proportion of flavoured coating and crunch to it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Apple pie:
When I got the apple pie it was so oily you could see the oil on the packaging and the edges.
Anyway the pie pastry was too thick and the apple filling was very artificial.
Since it was too hot, I let it cool down to take another bite but when it had cooled down you could smell the fying oil in the pastry.
