Pressed Juices selling fast

Pressed Juices is an Australian brand by Leo Pegoli which started when he returned to Melbourne after his sports scholarship in the USA.

Quoted from their website:
Pressed Juices extracted by cold pressing is the most nutritionally complete juice available, and contains up to 5 times more vitamins, minerals and enzymes than juice made by any other method. Each morning our fresh produce is slowly cold pressed - no additives, no pasteurisation or preservatives, just live juice - and immediately bottled to ensure a shelf life of up to 3 days when refrigerated. Whether you're interested in a detox or cleanse program, or a daily juice to get in more servings of fruit and vegetables, Pressed Juices can help you feel your best both physically and mentally.

At the store, they have so many series to benefit the body in different ways and they have samples so that you can taste before you buy.

By the time I got there, 98% of their juices were already sold out!!

These were the juices I liked.
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
greens 3:
apple, celery, cucumber, ginger, kale, lemon, lettuce, parsley, spinach

The greens 3 was refreshing because it had lemon juice and my other favourite greens.
This was the ultimate one for me as it was natural and unsweetened.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
boxed water:

I got this because I liked the carton.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
almond mylk:
almonds, dates, filtered water, sea salt, vanilla bean

For the sweet drinks, I loved this one because it had a strong vanilla taste and it was quite thick and filling.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
zest 4:
coconut, cucumber, lemon, pineapple
The zest 4 was soothing and appetizing because of the pineapple and coconut.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Everyone has different preferences, the three above reflect the flavours I like.

Nyonya Comes to Sai Ying Pun

Malaysian food comes to Sai Ying Pun!!!

Nyonya Coming is a small joint located on the corner of Water Street.
There are about six seats inside but no air conditioning so it is sweltering if you eat there.
I haven't been to Malaysia before but it feels like Malaysia because it is so hot in there.

The menu is really good because there are quite a lot of choices of vegetarians ranging from vegetarian laksas and curries with a choice of pumpkin or okra.

A joke for Hongkongers or those who can read Chinese.

The food there was really affordable so I ended up ordering lots of stuff.

They also had kaya toast which is the new hype at Ka Yun.

Here was what I ate over three visits.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pandan drink:

This was made with freshly grounded pandan leaves, I loved the aromatic pandan taste but it was too sweet.
It tasted better after diluting it with water.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Okra vegetarian laksa:

The laksa was slightly different to the ones I had because it lacked coconut milk but I don't like coconut milk anyway.
The soup was quite savoury and not too spicy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kaya toast:

The toast was perfectly toasted with delicious kaya spread in the middle.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Durian egg tart:

The egg tart was interesting, it was an eggtart with shortcrust pastry topped with durian spread and fresh durian flesh.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Durian kaya toast:

Compared to the kaya toast, this one tasted better because it was not as sweet and it had both durian and kaya in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegetarian pumpkin curry:

I loved this curry because the spiciness was mild and appetizing.
It had pieces of pumpkin which gave it a hint of sweetness that balanced the spiciness.

Pleasure time having crepes at Leisure Time

I was having a food tour at Sai Yung Pun and this place captivated me because of the beautiful deco, it was dreamy and relaxing.
Even their toilet felt like a palace.

On my Sai Yung Pun tour, the restaurants I went to were:
Nyonya Coming, Homelite Coffee (which can't seem to be listed on Openrice) and Eat my cakes.

This little gem was hotel standard from the uniform the owner was wearing to the Sachertorte cakes that they serve.
The owner makes their own marshmallows and corned beef too.

The crepes were surprisingly good because I had bad experiences from the local Japanese and Chinese crepes which are too sweet with too much aerosol cream.

The crepes they serve here are basically English pancakes which are thin and soft rolled with fillings.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Avocado and brie croissant:

Started off with the irresistible croissant because it had my favourite avocado and brie.
The avocado and brie paired nicely giving a lovely creamy and buttery tone to the flakey croissant.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Savoury cheese, tomato and mushroom crepe:

This was seriously good because the pancake base was not overly sweet like the ones at Mazazu.
The simple cheese, tomato and mushroom filling tasted good and the French dressing helped to bring all the flavours together.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Smoothie:

I was surprised by the smoothie too because I was expecting it to be too sweet but it wasn't.
It was refreshing with tones of banana, strawberry and pineapple.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
I will be back for the corned beef and marshmallows!!!!

Grilled delights at Takagi Yakitori

Tried this cozy joint on Minden Avenue on a rainy day for grilled snacks.

There were so many different items which was why I chose these instead of the usual meats and grilled chicken.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
marinated baby hotaru squid:

Lovely marinated squids which would probably go well with sake.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
monkfish liver:

The livers were velvety and fresh without any fishy taste compared to other ones I have tried before.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
grilled oysters

The oysters were juicy enhanced by the freshly grounded black pepper that was sprinkled on it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
grilled mackerel:

The mackerel was a little dry but tasty and I loved the crispy grilled mackerel skin.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
grilled mentaiko

The grilled mentaiko was quite salty which was nicely complimented by the salad on the side.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
grilled chicken livers

The grilled livers were velvety and rich covered in sweet glaze.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
japanese rice balls:

These were my favourite, they were crispy with cheese in the middle.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
grilled japanese cheese cake

The Japanese cheese cakes were grilled perfectly with gooey cheese in the middle which tasted like brie cheese.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese pickle platter:

The pickle platter seemed interesting and it indeed it was.
My favourites were the burdock and the shallots which were sweet and refreshing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
quail eggs:

The quail eggs were fun to eat but I wish the yolk was runny.

A nice environment for Vegetarian food

This restaurant has been around for ages but I never noticed it because 99% of the reviews were in Chinese.

I came here because of Silverthought's review.

As the restaurant is located in Mong Kok, I had no expectations especially the service because you don't get the best of services in Kowloon.
I was utterly surprised by how friendly the waitors were even though the restaurant was extremely busy and most vegetarian places I go to are so rude.

They placed a teapot and a glass bowl on the table which meant it needed rinsing!
(bugger!!!)

The menu was good with English, Chinese and pictures.

While I was amused with the word MEAT spelt MEET, it must have been fate because someone had to share a table with me and she started talking to me hence I met a new Vegetarian friend.

We happened to order the same crab rolls too.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Soft shell crab rolls:

These soft shell crab rolls were huge, but they kept falling apart when I ate them.
The sauce on top was a bit too sweet for my liking.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lamb skewers in satay sauce:

Tried these before at NamKeeH, basically the same stuff made of mushroom stalks.
The satays and sauce were a bit too salty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Although the food could have been better, the environment was certainly really good which made up for it.

Chinese donuts and eggtarts

Tai Cheong Bakery (Tsing Yi)

Had a visit from a friend and whenever she visits, she always gets eggtarts and Chinese donuts from Tai Cheong.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chinese donut:

The donut was very airy inside not like the western donuts and the inside was interestingly soggy and cold.
The donut exterior was like a huge choux bun and crispy coated in sugar.
At first I thought the dampness of the dough was the frying oil, but it was not.
The donut is big but when you bite into it, it is actually like a sponge and compresses. The donut exterior was chewier than the western type.
Overall I still prefer the western donut, but the inside of the Chinese donut is nice in the sense that it is moist and similar to fresh airy bread.
It is really similar to a sugar coated soggy American popover.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
There were eggtarts too but the only eggtart I like at Taicheong are the big ones.

Crumbly delicious cookies from Conte de Cookie

Conte de cookie (Wan Chai)

Spotted this shop when I was crossing the road.

The cookies I tried were:
Sea Salt & Butter
-this was my favourite because it was crumbly and melts in your mouth with a gentle buttery taste and a slight salty aftertaste.
Signature Chocolate
-The chocolate tasted stronger but it also had that delicious melt in the mouth texture.

Later that night during dinner, we got a surprise from 蒙奇奇 who was so sweet and got us these expensive cookies from this place.
I thanked her for these expensive cookies and she said our friendship was more expensive

The orange almond was really nice and I loved the bits of oranges and nutty almonds in it.
