A great cozy place on the corner for fine dining

I was lost on what to eat in Tsim Sha Tsui when I remembered that No.8 Minden Avenue had quite a few Western restaurants which is only half minute's walk from the MTR Station & Nathan Road.

Cozy corner stuck out when I crossed the road because it was on the corner with a lovely pastel blue and white wooden front.

At the corner of the window, there were cookies for sale which are made by them.

Cozy Corner had a nice French brasserie touch to it which made me decide to dine there.
I was greeted with my a nice selection of teas by Fortnum & Mason when I was waiting to be seated.

Inside, the lighting was dimmed and they had elegant crystal lights so it was quite romantic and classy.

I loved the white chairs, European wallpaper and chair railings.

After settling down I was given a menu which had so many choices making it hard to decide but the staff were professional and helpful to assist me on what to order.

We were given a bread basket after we ordered.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Bread basket:
The bread was warmed and it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
It was a cold day and the butter that was provided was spreadable which was really good.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fortnum & Mason Earl grey Tea:
Then came the tea because I love starting the meal with tea.
The Earl Grey was fragrant and natural with a hint of citrus aftertaste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Iced cappuccino:
I didn't try the iced cappuccino, but the foam cap was really silky and light with a hint of sweetness.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crab meat and avocado salad $138:
This was crab meat mixed with Mesclan greens with crunchy cubes of cucumber in it which gave it more dimension while the sweet Balsamic dressing made it appetizing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Oven baked onion soup served with cheese toast $56

The soup was really warming on a cold day with a piece of crispy baguette topped with cheese and the onion soup was sweet packed with onions.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cream of mushroom soup $82
The mushroom soup was really creamy with fresh slices of mushrooms in it garnished with a fresh flower on top.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Grilled Okinawa Kagoshima A5 cattle thick cut rib eye steak (8oz) $560 (seasonal price) served with truffle demi glace and asparagus.
The beef was juicy and soft with an even fat marbling paired with my favourite French beans and asparagus.
The beef tasted great with or without the truffle demi glace gravy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Rack of lamb served with rosemary and asparagus and honey mustard sauce $335
This was my favourite because it quite a big lamb rack with lots of juicy and supple meat attached that was rubbed with lots of rosemary herbs on the surface.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lemon cheesecake $58
To finish off, had the lemon cheesecake which had a prominent lemon flavour that was not too strong and you could taste the cheese in it as well.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tiramisu with alcohol $68

As well as the cheesecake, the Tiramisu was divine because the sponge in the middle was soaked with alcohol and every spoon of it was moreish.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
After an amazing night, it was time to go and we were told that we could get a discount through Facebook which my friend did.
To summarize, this is a great place for special occasions and high tea which I shall try next time because the menu says that they have clotted cream with scones!!

Crab roe chain at 雄丼丼

After paying $148 for a crab roe udon 蟹皇油烏冬 Donka in Central I found out that 雄丼丼 Hung Don Don and DONKA 自家湯汁麵食專門店 are part of the same group.
The crab roe dish 蟹皇油 is the cheapest at Quarry bay's 雄丼丼 Hung Don Don which is served on rice, whereas DONKA 自家湯汁麵食專門店 (North point) and DONKA 一碗一串 (central) both cost $148 served with udon.
There is another copycat nearby in QB that also serves these dishes too.

Basically they all serve the same dishes such as shredded chicken in Shaoxing wine, rice in lobster broth 龍蝦湯泡飯 etc.

The crab roe with minced pork on rice was ok at this place, there was quite a lot of minced pork in the sauce, however the vinegar tastes better here because it is more fruity and acidic whereas the one in Central failed as a vinegar as it was sweet only.

【When Grill-A-Corn meets Lab Made】

Lab Made has done it again!!

This time mixing Calbee's Grill-A-Corn with their sweetcorn soup based icecream which is available from now until 17th December.

I am the sort of person who likes unusual flavours so this was made for me.

They have drizzled it with caramel sauce to balance out the savoriness for those who are not ready for the unusual taste.

For me, I really liked it, especially without the sauce because I like things either savory or sweet but not mixed together because it is a bit weird.

The new icecream is definitely good because it tasted proper savoury with a strong natrual sweetcorn taste with a hint of maize which comes from the crisps.
I also had a go at making the icecream myself!!

A new branch of Law Mark Kee in Tseung Kwan O

At Metro City, they have renovated the upper mall and some new restaurants have appeared including this one.

As I was waiting for someone, I stopped by for a drink.

On my next visit, I am definitely going to have the mac and cheese but I was in a hurry so just got a drink.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Iced Pineapple:
The iced pineapple was really nice because it was pineapple juice with icecubes made of frozen canned pineapples.
It was lovely and refreshing and not the usual syrupy sweet drinks you get.

Znozz is the way to go!

Discovered Znozz when I was dining across the road.

I was curious to know what it was because the name Znozz reminds me of naps and I soon forgot about this place until I was given a Halloween flyer with a makeup session held at Znozz.

Anyway, I went to their Facebook and found out that it was a private lounge where one can take a rest or nap!! How awesome is that and in the heart of Central too near the MTR and Lan Kwai Fong.

For people working in Central, this is an ideal place to have their lunches in peace or order it and have it delivered there.
There are various rooms, the one at the far end is the biggest with a balcony facing Wellington Street.

Each room is equipped with a toilet, shower, charging accessories and a TV.

One of the rooms has massage chairs.

Outside they have lockers, board games and magazines for your use!!

Every guest is given a choice of three snacks when they stay there!!!
I tried out the big suite at Znozz before an event and it was a great place to get ready and crash out for a bit.
They let me use their lockers so I could leave and collect my belongings after the function and you don't have to worry how late they close because they close at 6am in the morning!

After lounging out at Znozz and getting ready, I was ready to rock at the event~!

Thank you Znozz for the amazing experience!

Back for more clean and tasty street snacks at The Lobintan

As I was in the area, I stopped by for more snacks.
The fishballs were big, soft and springy and the Chinese radishes were sweet.

Then I tried the peppery balls which were made with stomach and it was surprisingly tasty because it tasted like Vietnamese sausage meat.

For drinks I had the honey Chrysanthemum tea which was sweet and good for dry throats.

I didn't try this but my friend said it was nice and chewy just like mochi covered in spicy sauce paired with crispy pieces of fried chicken.
