Went here especially for the pandan desserts and avocado smoothie.
The attitude of some of the staff are a bit rude so expect that or don't go.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
avocado smoothie:
Thick and creamy with a rich savoury avocado taste.
I liked it because it was not sweetened.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Tomato Crab Soup Pho:
The herbs were fragrant but the soup lacked crab taste and the noodles were too soft.
The Vietnamese sausages were generous thick slices but they were unfortunately a bit too rubbery.
The blood jelly cubes were really dark and looked like it had blood poisoning or have been stewed for days.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Vietnamese style crispy bun:
The pickles were too sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Pandan and mung bean dessert:
The dessert was surprisingly good because the mung bean paste was really silky and not starchy but the pandan jelly was a bit too chewy.

Only the dessert and drink was good at Q1
Chinese style Louisiana chicken at Pizza Hut
Obviously Hong Kong's Pizza Hut did not do research on LOUISIANA or CREOLE food!
I ordered the Risotto with Louisiana Spicy chicken which looked like prawn Jambalaya in the picture.
Anyway, when it came, I was like WTF!
Basically it was white rice topped with tomato sauce, unseasoned chopped chicken pieces which were white, a few kidneys beans and green pepper which was hilarious especially the kidney beans because this is not chili con carne!
On the product picture, there are olives which is even more funny.
If you google Louisiana it should be fried chicken, but anyway from the product picture it looks like they were trying to make Jambalaya but it is missing Cajun and Okra.
Anyway, the dish was overpriced and just tasted like rice with tomato sauce.
As well as the food, the seating was weird.
The table that I was given was intimately close to the other table and as a slim person I had difficulty getting to the inner seat so I didn't bother and sat on the outer seat.
Luckily, the staff were nice and offered to change tables for me!

Pandan roll @ Saint Honore Cake Shop
Saw this cute Swiss roll for $4.8 and it happened to be my favourite Pandan flavour so I got one.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Pandan roll:
The roll was very fragrant and not too sweet, and I liked the ratio of sponge to cream because there was less cream and it was salted buttercream which gives it that local Chinese flavour to it!

Maya Café lands in Sheung Wan
This vegetarian place used to be in Wan Chai but they have now moved right in the heart of Central/Sheung Wan.
I love the new place because it just fits there surrounded by people who are health conscious.
There were samples to try:
Went after work so there were quite a lot of things sold out so tried the portobello burger and Eggless frittata with tomato sauce.
+++++++++++
Mushroom lovers will love the portobello because it is two big portobellos mushrooms mimicking the bun sandwiched with lettuce, tomato and sauce in the middle.
There are two sauces for the burger and I chose the truffle cashew cheese sauce which doesn’t contain any milk and it tastes so cheesy so I just loved the burger.
+++++++++++
There was a sample of the eggless frittata that is mixed with tofu and surrounded in a delicious herby tomato sauce spiced with fragrant cumin.
At Maya, the food is always flavourful and the menu has improved.
+++++++++++
I managed to get some truffle cashew cheese sauce and it tastes great with bread!

Beast Feast Menu at Linguini Fini
Apart from pastas, I was surprised there was a Beast Feast at Linguini Fini, which costs $458 per person (minimum 6 persons or more).
I was expecting lots of meat but it was antipasti, a cute suckling pig with vegetables and dessert.
Started off with garlic bread which was crispy and chewy served with a tasty sauce, then there was a tangy green salad and my favourite homemade burrata which was creamy.
After that, we had the Whole Sausage Stuffed Suckling Pig served with vegetables and pickles.
The pickled cauliflower and beets went nicely with the pig because it balanced the fattiness while the chili mostarda (spicy mustard) made it appetizing.
It was fancy mustard mixed with spices that were really addictive.
There was Classic Linguini Fini Pomodori so you don’t miss out on the famous pastas.
We finished with Apple Pie with Lily & Ran Vanilla Ice Cream.
For drinks I had the Beetnik which was a blend of beetroot, orange, carrot and basil.
It was not too sweet with a slight bitterness from the orange peel.

Unwanted fish scraps made delicious
It is clever how they have cooked unwanted salmon fish skin with a thin layer of salmon attached that is thrown away when the salmon is used for sashimi to make an edible meal costing $36.
The fish was quite oily but the texture was soft like jelly and it was quite tasty that you didn’t need the spring onions, which are a bonus.
It is good to see that this grubby gem is still here two years after my last visit!

Minced cutlet curry at Coco Ichibanya
Tried the new Minced cutlet curry, which is basically a minced steak that is coated in cutlet crumbs, deep fried served with curry sauce.
The minced cutlet was quite nice, the meat was finely minced with a fragrant beef smell and had a pleasant meat taste but the let down was the frying oil because it made the cutlet taste a bit rancid which is unnoticeable when you eat it with the curry sauce.....
