New Vegetable soup at Hana-Musubi

Walked past because I was going to RAMAS for dinner.

I wasn't intending to get anything but they had this new Shio-koji vegetables and okra soup.

As it was after 5pm, there was a 30% discount.

Shio-koji vegetables and okra soup:

The soup was like ordinary vegetable soup and it was not thick.

It had a hint of miso in it and there was not much okra in it but mainly pieces of celery and carrots.
I would have liked it if the soup was thick.

Western congee at Tallore (Wan Chai)

They had Avgolemono soup that day so I had to try it because I have never tried Avgolemono before.
Avgolemono is Greek and made with egg and lemon juice mixed with broth.
It has rice, orzo, pastina, or tapioca in the soup which makes it thick like congee.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Avogolemono soup:

It tasted like Chinese congee but nicer because there was blended chicken meat it in and it was light but thick in texture.
It was wholesome and warming with bits of rice in it and much better than congee because it is not oily.

Strawberry slush bucket from Hui Lau Shan

Had a $10 coupon so used it on the Strawberry slush bucket.
I wanted to try the longan but it was out of stock.

The strawberry slush had strawberries blended in it so it had a natrual strawberry taste and it was icy and cooling.
Beneath it was crystal jelly noodles which were sweet and chewy.

Hope to try the longnan flavour next!

Tofu burger at Veygo coffee

There wasn't much of a choice so went for the tofu burger.

The wedges and burger wasn't delicious because the tomato puree was not really tasty and the only thing that impressed me was the tofu because it was Koya-dofu which had a nice spongy texture.

I was expecting this diner to have bottles of sauce but they had only sachets.

The burger was a bit too expensive.

Liver sausages at 吉吉魚蛋

Discovered this shop because the shop was bright yellow.

At first I was not going to bother and have a look because I don't really eat fishballs but had a look anyway and saw that they had other stuff as well as fish balls.
The preserved sausages caught my eye and it was really cool that I could order one on its own because normally you have to go to a roast shop or a stir fried glutinous rice specialist for it.

They just looked delicious because the preserved liver sausage had a dark even burgundy colour which means there is not much fat.

I was a bit shocked because it was sooooooooooooooo delicious and it only cost me $8 with velvety liver inside but it was a bit too sweet, but then it would be sweet because I had it on its own.
I regretted not trying the other sausage but they were sold out when I went back.

Maxim’s cherry yoghurt cup

Got the cherry cup because I like cherries and yoghurt.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
cherry yoghurt cup:

The yoghurt cup turned out to be sweeter than I expected because the yoghurt was sweet and there were white chocolate shavings on top.
I liked the cherries at the bottom and the small layer of soft chocolate sponge in the middle which tasted good.

From Kyoto with love at Shoeian Kyoto

I am not a fan of Matcha or Kyoto but tried this place because it was new.
There were quite a lot of choices for Matcha fans.

According to the staff, there is a shop in Japan.

I needed a plastic bag but I was told it costs 50 cents, but in the end they gave it to me because it was for food.
To be honest I don't know if the plastic bag policy applies to bakery.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Kyoto matcha bread stuffed with matcha paste:

The matcha paste was not that strong and very sweet and the bun texture tasted like local buns so that was a bit disappointing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Kyoto matcha strawberry bread:

The strawberry bread had a similar taste and again the texture was like local bread so I didn't like it and there was an artificial strawberry aroma.
There was white paste in the middle which I havent a clue what it was but it was very sweet.
