Went here for dinner a few weeks ago and got addicted, then I went for the lunch buffet but unfortunately they had a groupon promotion so there were too many people there.
Decided to go back for dinner.
Started with poppadoms.
Here was what I had for dinner
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
appetizer:
I was given this by a guy nearby so decided to order it.
For $38 I got to try the momos, beaten rice and chicken tikka.
The highlight was the beaten rice which is flattened rice that is crispy. It was different and interesting eating crispy flakes of flat rice.
The momo was basically juicy dumplings filled with chicken and the chicken tikka was tasty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
egg fried rice:
The egg fried rice was delicious because each grain of rice was distinct and flavoured. The bits of egg were fragrant and delicate with a tad of MSG that made it delicious but not abused.
Although it was good, I am pretty sure the person who cooked it is different to the chef on the first visit.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Masala omelette:
Basically this was a jazzed up omelette with coriander, spices and juicy sweet bell peppers.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
egg bhurji:
This was scrambled eggs with onions, tomato and spices but the tomato taste is not as strong as it looks but the egg was delicious with the finely chopped onions that gave it a crisp texture.
This was perfect with the rice above!
Again it was good, but I am pretty sure the person who cooked it is different to the chef on the first visit.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
chicken kadai:
This was a sweet tasting curry.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
naan:
I chose the one filled with potatoes and it was so nice because the mashed potatoes were silky and fluffy.

[燙天下] Salty and spicy broth
Nice concept with a choice of vegetables which you can see but the broth was disappointing because all you could taste was extreme saltiness and spiciness.
The vegetables were ok but the tofu texture was like a polyurethane sheet.

The bill: $24
Service: OK
Yummy factor: Could be better
English Menu: no

Sham shui po's Mecca
Mecca is a place where Muslims around the world go to complete their pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime.
At Sham Shui Po, there is a new food joint called Mecca serving Egyptian food.
I wanted the Egyptian samosas but they didn't have it.
Ordered the Salt grilled mackerel with bread and fries.
It took quite a while for the food to arrive and it was not that hygienic because my partial complete food was put on this area where people were ordering over my food so their shixxy spit was dropping all over it.
Anyway, finally it was complete so I was able to collect it.
The mackerel is basically the same ones served in Japanese restaurants.
The bread was local chinese bread which i don't like stuck with a few sesame seeds but earlier photos on openrice seemed to show a baguette.
The fish was not hot enough and a bit underdone because it was still very wet and jelly like and the skin side looks like a raw piece of fish because cooked fish skins shrivels up and the skin was smooth.
But overall it tasted ok. The chips were a bit overdone because they were too crispy.

Grand and glamourous at Gradini Ristorante Italiano
Although Gradini serves Italian food, the restaurant is so elegant and the interior looks French.
Went here with a group of friends to try it out.
While we were there, Kelly Chen 陳慧琳 was also dining there.
As well as Kelly, they said Julian Cheung 張智霖 and local tycoons dine there alot.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Anniversary cocktail:
We were served this pretty anniversary cocktail which had pearlescent pearls in it that contains alcohol.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Selection of prime Italian dried and cured meat Parmigiano Reggiano and black truffle honey - HK$138:
Started off with a selection of fine meats but my favourite was the hard and tasty Parmigiano Reggiano cheese because I love cheese.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Seafood salad with parsley and olive dressing - HK$168:
The seafood salad was refreshing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Grilled Mediterranean octopus and citrus salad on a bed of hand-picked baby spinach leaves - HK$148:
The octopus salad stole the show because the octopus was really soft and springy with a strong briny octopus taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Double –boiled crustacean broth with king scallop, scampi, mussels, clams, calamari and fresh herbs- HK$198i:
The crustacean soup had a strong crab taste and there was quite a bit of seafood blended into it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Home-made tagliolini with Maine lobster, fresh tomato and basil - HK$388:
A nice dish of pasta in tangy tomato sauce with chunky pieces of lobster.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Home-made Ravioli filled with lobster and fresh tomato coulis - HK$248:
Personally I liked the ravioli because I just love ravioli, the ravioli pastry was firm and al-dente filled with tasty lobster.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Oven-baked whole Italian line-caught sea bass with fresh aromatic herbs in salt crust - HK$398:
For red meat alternatives, you can choose this because the fish is delicate paired with fractal brocoli and a nice lemon sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Live Maine lobster, baked or steamed with choice of sauces (lemon butter sauce, sea urchin cream or spicy tomato sauce) - HK$548:
As nice as it looks, the lobster was springy and tender.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Roast lamb rack with herbs and Chianti mustard - HK$398:
This is a must try even if you are not keen on lamb because it is soft and supple and not a bit gamey.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Tiramisu HK$88:
I am bored of Tiramisu but this one was amazing because it had crushed chocolate which makes it taste so nice and the layers are so fluffy and creamy with a delicate sponge in the middle.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Moscato Jelly HK$98:
As well as the tiramisu, the jelly is a must because it is paired with fragrant coconut icecream and the jelly is sweet and divine.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
I didn't try the cocktails but the others had:
· Salty Air HK$138 (new summer cocktail)
· Iced Watermelon HK$138 (new summer cocktail):
The iced watermelon is basically like an alcoholic sorbet.

Haveli Authentic Indian Restaurant
Indian food is my favourite so I can almost eat it everyday.
This time tried Haveli on Tsing fung street.
The decor was nice and the restaurant wias spacious.
Started with crispy and spicy poppadoms.
Ordered the Lamb samosa which was divine because it was finely minced lamb with peas in a rich gravy.
Tried the Tandoori fish tikka which was different because not many places do Tandoori fish, and here it was salmon.
The salmon was flakey flavoured with mild tandoori spices.
For curries had the paneer kadai which is cooked with tomatoes and cheese, I found the tomato sauce really sweet
For rice I chose the spinach and garlic rice because it was lovely and green.
The rice was soft and fluffy.
As well as rice, I had the keema naan (lamb) and amritsari naan (potatoes).
For drinks I had my favourite salty lassi but not everyone likes the salty lassi so I recommend the mango lassi.
