Delicious crispy rolls priced at 3.89

Foodgasmic Breakfast Roll:
For breakfast they do these breakfast rolls which usually come with egg, bacon or egg with brown sauce.
I was so blessed Crispy Rolls were able to do me a breakfast roll as it is temporarily off the menu!
The breakfast roll I had was filled with cocktail sausages, bacon, crispy onions, lettuce and brown sauce.
It was literally the BEST crispy roll I have ever had because of the sausages and bacon which are comforting and something I can relate to for Breakfast.
Brown sauce with sausage and bacon has always been the perfect pairing and when the brown sauce came in contact with the crispy onion bits, that taste was sensational, it was like a really good bacon sausage sandwich sarnie with salt and vinegar crisps in it.
In fact, the whole crispy roll is like a yummy sandwich with an Asian twist wrapped in Sushi rice and nori.
It was just so damn foodgasmic, imagine how orgasmic that would be if it contained egg!!!!!!
I'm a fuss pot with bacon but their bacon is to my liking because the bacon rind doesn't make me squirm as it is not squidy and soft.
Anyway, let's hope this comes back on the menu because it tastes so good even without the egg which I can see holding up the queue because eggs need a bit more attention.
THANK YOU @crispyrollsuk for making my day!!!

Spotted this joint a few months ago because of their quirky slogan: if KFC and itsu had a baby, and it's  yummy.
I wasn't quite sure what they were serving at the time so didn't try.
A few months later, the shop looked really busy during lunchtimes and seemed to be doing well hence I tried them.
For 3.89, you still have change from a fiver didn't seem like a big loss if it didn't taste good but seeing the young office crowd queuing seemed reassuring because they didn't look like the one time customers.
The choices are simple, chicken, fish, bacon or falafel so on my first visit I was greedy so I had the fish and bacon.
It makes sense why the rolls are not expensive because it's fish fingers and chicken bites you get but they do turn out sensationally delicious!
The size of these rolls are quite big where they claim to be bigger than a big mac hence they really do fill you for lunch even though you are paying a small price.
Their rolls are simply sushi rice, choice of filling, sweet chilli sauce, lettuce, cucumber, wrapped in seaweed.
The chicken, fish and bacon are equally good in their own ways but most importantly the sauce.
By default, they use sweet chilli but I opted for mayonnaise which I thought was the best paring.
I opted mine with regular mayonnaise which tasted amazing because you have this soft sticky warm pillowly rice wrapped in a tasty seaweed sheet, then you have that nice filling with mayonnaise with that extra special crunch from the crispy onions.
It is hard to say which one is my favourite but I like the way they use fish fingers for the fish option.
No matter with chicken, bacon or fish, it tastes good for all combinations.
The chicken exceeded my expectations because I was expecting a piece of dry fried chicken but it was big and moist.
The unusual paring of bacon, rice and seaweed also worked so there is definitely something for everyone.
These rolls are similar to Korean rice burritos but somehow I prefer crispy rolls with the Western elements like fish fingers, bacon and mayonnaise etc.
After trying them, I can finally understand why they are so popular and I will definitely be back.
Now the challenge for them is how long they can keep selling them at 3.89 and whether they will open any more branches.
Looking at the whole business, I think it was well thought out as the food comes quickly after you have ordered as they have 5 staff there to execute.
Payment is quick and easy with three machines, one that receives payments for single rolls sold, one for set meals and one for special requirements when the customer wants an add on or something.

Motatos pop up truck at Shoreditch

I was really blessed to attend the Motatos pop up truck at Boxpark which was there to raise awareness for food waste.
The food truck was serving FREE freshly cooked meals headed by MOB with food provided from Motatos.
At the popup, you can either donate food or donate money for a free meal.
As I had some spare food in the cupboard, I exchanged it for a delicious chickpea curry with rice.

Great tapas deal at Las Fluente

Competition for Tapas is fierce which happens to be an advantage for foodies as restaurants have to maintain quality and taste to keep its customers.
There are so many special offers for tapas in the weekdays to cover for the quiet times.
At Las Fluente, they are doing this £10 deal which gets you any two tapas from the menu with a soft drink.
Compared to the £12.95 tapas deal, I think this one is better.
Dined there one afternoon and had the lamb kidney in mushrooms and sherry sauce, ham and chicken croquettes with tea.
The kidney dish lets you appreciate the lovely taste of kidneys as the one in the pies don't get fresher than this and they were cooked to perfection so they have a chew yet not too rubbery.

Pandan coconut drink and the signature chicken curry with egg puff at Old Chang Kee

I have been meaning to try Old Chang Kee which is famous for its curry puffs.
Finally made an effort to try one lunch time because they had my favourite pandan drink.
After queuing for a while I was served but sadly that day they ran out of ice so I didn't bother with the food and went back another day.
Their social media team were very helpful and responded unlike some other restaurants where they don't and assured me they would have it the very next day and offered a free drink on my next visit.
As a pandan fan, I went the very next day as I couldn't wait and had the curry puff with egg as well.
It is best to visit after 1:45 when the queue dies down.
Their curry puffs are basically like Jamaican patties and Cornish Pasties filled with chicken curry and a wedge of egg.
Overall, it makes a nice filler in the afternoon and doesn't break the bank.
Next to the star of the show was the my favourite pandan drink, it was really impressive as it was not too sweet with smooth sago and grass jelly.
The crushed ice is definitely essential as it balances out he heavily of the creamy coconut.
Will certainly return and try the mala chicken puff.

Cheese toast at The Glitch

To be honest, I was not intending to dine here because I was meant to be trying an old cafe nearby but they were closed.
Apart from that The Glitch is a great place to relax and hang out with its lovely quirky decor.
On the menu, they had various cheese toasties for 4.50 to choose from and it was really hard to decide as the vegan choice was tempting as well as the regular cheese.
Their vegan toastie with spinach is made with sheese while the regular one was red Leicester, cheddar, mustard and mayo.
After a hard battle on deciding which one I decided to try the regular one and come back for the vegan one.
I was pleasantly surprised how good the toastie was because I felt that the lovely cheddar cheese was good supported by some decent yeasty fresh white bread.
A good toastie to me is proper cheese and not tasteless mozzarella which is just stunning for its stringiness.
There was no heavy feeling or oiliness after finishing the toastie so I definitely will be back for the vegan one.

White pudding at Mary's Cafe

White pudding on the menu is scarce and not popularly known hence you will only find it at expensive restaurants or in Ireland!
Mary's Cafe is a rare gem in London that serves it in their Big Irish Breakfast hence the journey there to try it.
I ordered the Big Irish and changed the hash browns for bubble and I am so glad I did because I liked the way they put spinach leaves in it.
The bubble was nice and fluffy but the sausage was a bit too fatty for my liking as you can literally see a piece of fat in the sausage.
Moving on to the white pudding, I would say it is very different to black in terms of texture which is more bouncy and meatier with lots of spices.
It was like eating a meatloaf/stuffing.
Dessert ended nicely with the jam roll, it was similar to a suet pudding and delicious with proper custard.
Unfortunately, I didn't try them in the summer because they have jelly and ice cream.
Overall, a must visit because it is one of those old cafes that you can appreciate the decor and seating etc.
