[New at McDonalds] Cheesy Sauce Crispy Thighs 芝士醬麥炸雞

Super Late in the game is Hong Kong McDonald's fried chicken with a Korean Twist.
Korean Fried Chicken started trending in HK in 2014 but McD never had fried chicken on the menu permanently until last year.
Now that they do, they are offering Korean inspired Fried Chicken with cheese sauce 芝士醬麥炸雞 along with Shake Shake Fries with Kimchi Seasoning.

[Review] Chicken Mayo burger at McDonalds on Lewisham High Street

Went to Lewisham and felt a bit hungry so had the chicken mayo burger as it was only 99p.
Compared to the Hong Kong McDonalds Chicken burger, the UK version was so damn good.
The shape is the same just like your regular burger whereas the Hong Kong version is oval shaped because the patty is oval shaped.
The lettuce in the UK burger is shredded but the Hong Kong version is more like tiny random pieces of lettuce which make it bothersome to eat.
As for the mayo, the UK version is so much nicer as it has more tangyness to it like sourcream while the Hong Kong mayo is just sweet.
Last but not least is the chicken patty, the UK version is round and thin while the Hong Kong patty is thicker and oval shaped laced with weird black pepper.

[Review] Tasty Fried Chicken at McDonalds Hong Kong

I love Fried chicken but it is really difficult to get fried chicken to my liking in Hong Kong. There are countless options for fried chicken with the introduction of Korean Fried chicken a few years ago, but they are not to my liking because they are often coated with weird dressings and the quality of chicken is not good either.
The KFC in Hong Kong uses a different recipe to UK which is too crunchy as well as bad chicken inside.
Jollibee was good but now the coating has also been modified so that it is crunchy.

Anyway, McDonalds is now finally serving fried chicken just like McDonalds in Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore where chicken is wanted by popular demand.
I would love to try the McDonalds in the Philippines because they have chicken gravy just like the KFC in UK.

In Hong Kong, the fried chicken a la carte at McDonalds varies from HKD31-HKD34.5 depending on location.

There are two pieces per portion and the chicken is decent in size compared to the anorexic chicken at KFC!!

Taking a bite, the coating was to my liking, not too crunchy or soft with a good thickness.
The chicken was succulent and moist which was extremely satisfying, however the only complaint was the spices .
I didn't expect it to be spicy.
The chicken thigh oozed out some liquid which is most probably the frozen liquid that melted when it was fried.

Anyway, the chicken thigh turned out to be a surprise because it was convenient to eat in the sense that it only had one bone.
I would definitely eat it again but I am allergic to the spices in the coating so I won't be eating it that frequently.

[McDonald's Review] The Indian Chicken - Great Tastes of the World

UKs McDonald The Indian Chicken is Two pieces of succulent crispy chicken with a sweet and sticky onion relish, in-between a garlic naan.

I wasn't really keen on trying it but tried it anyway.

Overall, I found the naan too dry and it broke too easily.

The sticky onion relish was very tart and the mango taste was stronger.

There was also some white sauce which was really garlicky so the burger as a whole tasted more Greek than Indian.

As for the chicken it was basically [Chicken Selects] which are strips of tender chicken breasts.

The chicken was a bit too dry and chewy for my liking.

2018 McDonald's D24 Durian McFlurry in Hong Kong

Hong Kong McDonald's launched the durian McFlurry on July 5th which is available in Hong Kong and Macao.
It will only be available for two weeks but surprisingly it was sold out within two days of launch!

You either hate or love Durian like Marmite!
The D24 Durian McFlurry was launched in Malaysia last year so it is not new but new to Hong Kong and Singapore.

I tried it on the first day.

On the menu, there are two options, the standard one for HKD25 and the Deluxe one with extra durian for HKD40.

I ordered the HKD40 where I was given a separate tub of Durian.

To be honest, the durian was not fresh durian but durian puree with tiny shreds of durian in it.
Sadly, the durian puree was sweetened so the extra dose of durian puree didn't give me pleasure but extra goddamn sweetness!

If I knew the durian was sweetened, the standard Durian McFlurry would have been good enough and it is really weird why they had to sweeten it as Durian is naturally sweet anyway.

Spicy Beef Burger 2018: McDonalds Hong Kong

McDonald's have launched the Spicy beef burger for the FIFA world cup season.
It has four slices of thin square beef patties in the middle with Malagueta chili sauce.

THIS IS NOT A NEW BURGER BECAUSE IT WAS LAUNCHED IN 2014 (World Cup) and 2015 (Shrek) .

It is quite a spicy burger but it was delicious as it tastes like chili con carne and the beef patty itself is spicy too.

The spicy beef patty is similar to Grubers Jalapeno where the chili and beef are blended together as a patty.

[McDonalds Hong Kong] 2018 All day breakfast on New Years day

A few years ago McDonalds launched all day breakfast only on new years day and since then they have been serving it every year.

This year, they decided to promote the hotcakes with a choice of four sauces.
Three were not available before such as strawberry, fudge and Skippy's peanut butter.
Clearly the strawberry and fudge sauce are the sauces used for the sundaes.
Also served all day on New Years day was the soy milk which is another breakfast item.

I got the hotcakes deluxe, extra McSausage muffin, Bacon loaded fries, apple pie and the soy milk because I always like having fun mixing the things around.

The pancakes were hot, soft and fluffy and they tasted even better when I put the filling from the apple pie onto the pancakes.

Some of the chocolate sauce was put into my soymilk making it into chocolate soymilk, while I played with the remaining sauce on the hotcakes.

For the Sausage McMuffin, I put the guacamole from the loaded fries and it went really well together.

To summarize, I had a fun New Years day!

Tobasco at Hong Kong's McDonalds

I thought it was a joke when my friend told me there was a Tobasco burger at McDonalds.
Went to my nearest McDonalds and it was true, not only was there a burger but there was softserve with spicy fudge sauce and shake shake fries with spicy seasoning Tabasco sauce.

Onion ring angus:

Softserve with spicy fudge sauce:

I decided to try the Fries with spicy seasoning:
It was very spicy as expected but I liked it because it was punchy and the spiciness wasn't long lasting.
The only let down was that the fries were overdone, hard and dry otherwise it would have tasted much nicer.
