McDelivery!! Hong Kong's McBreakfast

I used to assume McDelivery was only available from lunch to midnight but when I found out that they deliver breakfast too, I decided to order breakfast because the queues are always long at McDonalds.

Fish muffin:

Tried the fish muffin which was new.
It is basically the same as the filet-o-fish but in a muffin.

It was really nice because the muffin was chewy and dusted with a delicious maize powder.
The fish muffin was good but there was not enough tartar sauce and not enough cheese which gives it a salty flavour.

Breakfast set:

I got this because of the scrambled eggs with mushrooms and the rashers of bacon.
The scrambled eggs were disappointing because the mushrooms did not have any flavour and the bacon was dry and hard.

Decomposed meats at 南苑美食

Food is cheap compared to others in the area but unfortunately the roast pork tasted a bit off and the texture was mushy.
The egg looked like swiss cheese, but it was a preserved salted egg which was probably safe to eat.

Hand shaken strawberry milkshake at Bei Coffee (Sai Kung)

Decided to have a drink before lunch so went here for a milkshake.
There was a choice of strawberry or blueberry so I chose the strawberry.

When it came, there was lots of froth on top which was light and delicious.
The sweetness was just right with a strong strawberry taste blended with fresh milk.

Next time I plan to try the earl grey pudding and the black rain which is coffee with coke!

Improved dessert choices at Sweetheart Dessert (Sai Kung)

I rarely eat Chinese desserts because all the choices revolve around mango, red beans and they are 9 times out of 10 too sweet.

On this visit to Sweetheart Dessert, I was surprised to see mangosteen in one of the desserts but I didn't try it because it probably has seeds in it.

Anyway, tried the apple puree which was surprisingly nice but a bit too sweet and the fruits in the dessert such as watermelon didn't go well with the taste.

Rice rolls at 金山粥店

This place is famous for rice rolls so decided to try it.
On my way there, I could smell it a mile away because the oil smell was sickening and the meat didn't smell fresh.

Since I was already there, I decided to try it.

The rice rolls are made at the front of the shop with the rice roll mixture stored in the red bucket.

There was a dine in area too.

They open at 6 in the morning which is pretty early, but then the elderly people in Sai Kung normally get up at 5am!!

Rice rolls with chives and dried shrimp:

Basically I found them too soft.
The taste was ok but it wasn't delicious that I had to make a special trip into SK for them.
It was slightly different to the rice rolls in the city because it had sesame and pork bits in the rice rolls as well.

Addicted to nood food

Since they opened in April, I have probably spent more than $1XXX at this place!

WHY??

Because, their smoothies are divine and their salads are healthy as well as delicious!!!

nood food is where healthy meets delicious. They make cold-pressed juices, raw foods and superfood smoothies from organic ingredients.
As well as that, their logo and artwork for food are funky and vibrant.

Although I don't go to the gym, nood food is actually a healthy food bar that belongs to that fitness club.

Everything is PRICEY at nood food but it was worth it!!

I was impressed they had fresh kale because it is best to consume fresh kale with all the nutrients rather than kale chips.

The kale was really tasty because it was dressed in lemon juice which made it zesty and appetizing.

There was too much choice for superfood smoothies because all of them were enticing!

Most of them are blended with coconut water which makes them so dreamy and addictive because I love the taste of coconut water.
The caramba was amazing because it was a refreshing blend of cucumber, coconut water, cilantro and pineapple.
All their drinks are clearly labelled with printed stickers.

Anyway, there will be more reviews to come when I try everything including their cooked foods.

New branch of Saint Honores at Hang Hau Station

When I saw the new Crispy rainbow cake I just had to get it, but all the stores were sold out.
It just happens, there was a new branch at Hang Hau station so I was able to get it because it was early in the morning.

I managed to get a form to apply for the VIP card because I had spent over $30 which I am yet to hand in.

Anyway, the cake was visually pretty with colorful layers of cake.

The first layer was blueberry sponge cake, the second layer was egg white sponge cake, the third layer was crispy chocolate flakes, the fourth layer was strawberry followed by green tea and then a sponge cake base covered in creamy mousse.
Overall the taste was really nice because it was not too sweet, but the taste of the different layers did not stand out except for the green tea.
I liked the cake but did not like the crispy layer in the middle because it was just weird like eating egg shells but it seems like a Hong Kong thing because local bakeries like to add crispy things to their cakes.
