Lemon chicken with Spaghetti @ Spaghetti house

Previously I have had pasta cooked with lemon, it makes the whole dish very appetizing.

Carnegies in Wan Chai does pasta with zuchinni and lemon, whilst California Pizza kitchen does pasta with chicken in lemon sauce.

The spaghetti house version is slightly disppointing in that it is totally sweet, and the pasta is bland.

As for the baked escargots with potato, it was slightly different to what I was expectng too.
I didnt expect to have a large clump of tinned spinach in the middle, and the parmesan cheese powder on top made it taste like inflight meals.

Saizeriya Italian Restaurant's winter menu

As always the food at Saizeriya is cheap, fast and good.

They have changed their menu, and there are quite a few new items that are Japanese such as spicy whelks, seaweed and the pork belly in black vinegar.

Not a fan of Japanese food but ordered the pork belly, fried chicken, mushroom and cream risotto, spaghetti bolognaise, cherry tomatos and buffulo cheese.

Fried chicken
The iron plate was covered with oil hence the fried chicken was slightly oily where it had touched the plate.
Apart from that, the coating was thin and the chicken inside was tender and tasty.
The sauce that came with it was the famous sauce they use in their prawn salad.
The sauce was slightly too creamy for the chicken, but luckily the sauce was runny so you can control the amount of sauce you want.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pork belly in sweet vinegar sauce
It reminded of the Hangzhou dish called Dongpo pork, a square piece of pork belly with layers of fat and lean meat.
The belly is braised in sweet vinegar sauce, similar to the sweet vinegar and ginger pig's trotters.
I only ate the lean part of the meat , but it was slightly dry and coarse.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Garlic bread
This is new on the winter menu which replaces the foccacia.
Overall it tastes OK, but I prefer the foccacia.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cheese and mushroom risotto
This is my favourite Asian cooked risotto Italian style because it was not too creamy and it contained lots of finely diced onions and parsley.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spaghetti bolognaise
This was disappointing because it looked nothing like the product shot, and it did not taste like bolognaise sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cherry tomatos and buffulo cheese
The portion size was quite small, but the buffulo cheese was really nice with the olive oil drizzled on top.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spaghetti grenovese
Although the sauce was green, it was not Pesto sauce but THAI BASIL!!
It was an interesting dish because Thai basil was used instead of Basil which is commonly used in Italian dishes.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Garlic foccacia from previous menu
This is no longer on the menu, but it was nice eating it with olive oil.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
creme pudding
It was not too sweet and the texture of the pudding was slightly firm with an eggy taste.

Sicilian meatball and spaghetti pasta @ Pizza Hut

This was not on the delivery menu before so decided to try it.
It costs $62 which qualifies for delivery.

It tasted better than I expected, the sauce for the pasta was rich tomato sauce infused with basil.
It has a tangier taste than the bolognaise sauce.
It also tastes like Heinz tinned spaghetti, but the texture of spaghetti is not as mushy as the tinned one. As for the meatballs I liked them as well, they were soft, and it tasted like the Italian sausage meat use in their supreme pizza.

First visit to Hokkaido dairy farm milk restaurant

I have always wanted to try this place but when I went to the Wan Chai branch last year it was closed.
The branch in Wan Chai used to be open during the day, but now they have extended their opening hours.

Anyway I decided to try this branch first.

You order and pay at the counter and they will bring over the food.

There are a bar tables or tables to choose from.
Being my first time here, I found the menu confusing, so in the end ordered the set with scrambled eggs, ham, toast and spaghetti in soup with roast pork.
Although this restaurant is Japanese, I felt it was so Chinese because of the style of the sets with the typical pasta, eggs and toast.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Scrambled egg
The egg was soft and fluffy and not too buttery.
I was really impressed with the egg.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fried egg
They were not as tasty as the scrambled eggs, but they were interesting.
I kept dropping the yolk from the spoon by accident on to the plate because the egg was so slippery, but the yolk membrane was so strong that it did not break!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Ham
The ham tasted fake and the texture was like plastic.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spaghetti in soup with roast pork:
The soup was really nice and creamy and the roast pork was very Chinese.
The roast pork was quite lean yet soft.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Toast
I liked the toast as well, it was crispy and soft in the middle. The toast had real salted butter spread on it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Sesame oil
It is thick golden brown sesame oil in the bottle. When the lid was opened, the smell of sesame oil was strong.
After applying it to the food, it really enhanced it and there was a lovely sesame oil taste, althought there was a slight bitterness to it.
