Beef with roe @ Yoshinoya

Yoshinoya has just created more variety by adding different ingredients to the existing beef.

This time they added fish roe with beef, and sprinkled it with the same toppings from the salmon and fish roe dish.

The fish roe adds some crunch to it, and the wasabi bits from the topping gives the beef mustard flavouring.

The other dishes will be beef and kimchi, beef and mushrooms, beef and egg, so I think out of the new series, beef and mushroom should taste good, and if you like spicy food then Kimchi would do the job.

Triple cheese beef bowl, weird but nice @ Yoshinoya

Yoshinoya’s new range has something that is interesting, the series they had before were basically a combination of the existing items.
They have used cheese as a topping, I have never seen them serve anything with cheese at Yoshinoya, so this must be the first.

However this dish is slightly weird, cheese is usually grilled or put on top of pasta.
I think I find it hard to accept cheese with yoshinoya beef as the beef is already in sauce, so the whole thing is quite moist and wet and the cheese gets a bit soggy.

The rice was served with triple cheese, Parmesan, cheddar and mozzarella, I felt that if it was plain cheddar, it would have tasted nicer. The Parmesan and mozzarella were tasteless and made the texture stringy.
I was expecting lots of cheese as shown on the product picture, in the real case, I think it was only a third.

In general, it tasted ok, but only cheddar would have given it justice.
Expensive!!! $1333.50

Teppanyaki with pomelo sauce @ Yoshinoya

Not my usual fare because I dislike grills and Teppanyaki's because of the grease.
I just tried this for fun, but the restaurant's air conditioning was FREEZING!!!!!!!!
It was Teppanyaki with pomelo sauce.
Butter was used on the plate to grill the food.

The set consists of beef, bacon wrapped frankfurters, onions, green pepper, sweetcorn, egg and crab.

Basically anynone can cook this without any cooking knowledge, but you just have to know if the meat is cooked or not.

Overall it tasted OK, the sauce was thick and the beef remained juicy.
The pomelo sauce was slightly syrupy though.
The service was rubbish because I was not given the cooker until I requested one from one of the waitors who was clearing the tables.
