Not only coffee at Noc Coffee & Roaster

Discovered this place on the way to Green Waffle diner but it wasn't open, so came back another saturday but it was packed with people so tried it the following week.
As well as coffee, they have other items which is why they are called Not only Coffee.

I am a tea drinker so had the Earl Grey tea.

They said they use some branded tea but there was no label so I couldn't get a picture of the brand.

Earl grey tea:

The tea was aromatic but the cup didn't have a handle so it was hard to hold the cup because it was very hot.

Pineapple slice:

The pineapple slice was amazing because the pineapple was really tangy and the crumble on top was not that sweet.

Adorable and affordable mini cupcakes at Lugard

When Lugard first started, they just sold chocolates.
Walked past and saw some pretty cupcakes which costs $2x each and $8 for the dinky ones.

I think the price tag is really good and the piping is beautiful.

Tried the small raspberry one, which costs $8 and the cream on top was lighter than I imagined with a strong raspberry taste.
The cake was good too because it was moist and not too sweet.

Happy Diwali at [School Food]

Took my Indian colleague here for lunch to celebrate Diwali which happened to be the first day of School Food in Tai Koo.
There was a long queue but fortunately we only had to wait 15 minutes and food arrived reasonably fast.
I had my favourite beetroot and crab rolls which were fresh and scrumptious and my colleague had the stir fried beef noodles which he liked.
We also shared some dumplings.

Wagyu rolls exclusive at this branch:

Beef offal hotpot at Gold Medal Seafood Hot Pot

Went here for hotpot and this place was packed.
Tried the beef offal hotpot because it was unique and the strong flavours from the broth make it great for blanching anything.

The beef offal parts were delicious and there were lungs, stomach parts and lots of Chinese radish.
We had sashimi as well but it tastes better in the hotpot.

Chicken @ 忠記咖啡屋

Went here randomly because I was in the area so had the chicken with rice.

The coffee cups were interesting, they were plastic mugs like the ones you find on airplane meals.

Anyway, the soup was good and the chicken was ok because there was a good balance of white meat and dark meat.
Pretty average food but better than the average overpriced crap at Tai Koo and Quarry Bay.

The ultimate Chinese sausages at Hong Kong's Ser Wong Fun

I used to like this other place in CWB for Chinese sausages but not anymore since I tried this place.
Every time I am in Central I will always pass this place but there are too many enticing restaurants that I skip this place.

Ended up trying this place one rainy night because I was too lazy to walk somewhere else.
I went for the Chinese sausages with rice and had both types, the liver sausages and the red preserved sausages.

To my surprise the red preserved sausages were sweet and hard without fatty bits so I really liked it.
Normally I won’t eat the reds because they burst with oil and horrible squidgy fat.
The liver sausage was even better because it was velvety and there were not much fatty bits in it either.
Anyway, I hope to come again and try the other dishes.

Delish Chinese sausages and glutinous rice at 吉吉魚蛋

Last time I had the Chinese sausage on its own and I regretted not trying the rice.
This time I tried the rice and ordered an extra Chinese sausage and it came to $34.

The rice was fragrant and pleasant because when I smell Chinese sausages with glutinous rice I will usually want to throw up because the oil is rancid.
The glutinous rice was al-dente with a slight stickiness and it had a lovely sweet and savoury taste which comes from the sweet soy sauce while the preserved sausages had a fragrant Chinese wine taste.

The rice was topped with spring onions and crispy peanuts which gave it extra flavour and the portion was quite big compared to the famous joint in Wan Chai.
