Newly opened was DAGE, a place specializing in Claypot noodles and skewer.
When I first walked in, the whole place was rather confusing, I couldn't tell whether the cuisine was from and the fact it was very daunting as I thought they didn't speak English so we walked out.
After a little thought we went back in because my other half said it should be simple as you just tick the sheet on what you want so I decided to let my other half fuss about it!
Anyway, it turns out that two of the staff spoke English which was relief.
The reason for the other confusion was the decor and design as it was very different to the ones I've seen when visiting Asia.
It was bright and young with neon art and they had this TV which seemed to have Peppa Pig in Chinese.
At the entrance, they actually had these functional oil drum tables.
There was an English menu which was good and I was later told by a friend who knows their Chinese that them menu was in Traditional characters and they said that the noodles were designed by a Hong Kong chef which makes sense as they have fermented pork trotters etc and other Hong Kong things.
Back to the topic of food, we chose the noodles in a pumpkin soup with some balls.
To be honest, I only wanted the noodles so I chose the Korean ramen because I am not fond of the chewy jelly thick rice noodles that are a popular choice.
The pumpkin broth albeit a bit spicy was surprisingly nice as it was not sweet but had a lovely meaty savoury kick to it.
The lobster balls and fuzhou balls are the usual stuff you can get from Asian supermarkets which my other half chose.
Finished with the fried crispy sticky brown sugar rice cake which is a Sichuan dessert which was not listed on the menu but spotted in the chilled cabinet.
Overall, glad we checked it out.
