[Pizza Hut, Hong Kong] Get lovebites with STARBITES

At Pizza Hut there are some new dishes, as well as pizza there is baked lobster with Parmesan Cheese called the CHEESY LOBSTER SUPREME and SLOW COOKED PORK KNUCKLE.

The star of the show is the STAR BITES pizza which comes in two flavours is in a shape of a star and the slices look like HEARTS.

At the moment, they are doing a promotion where you get a miniature version of the Star Bites pizza if you order the set and spend over $350.
See in store or online promotion for more detailed information.

The lobster was really good complimented by the fries and salad, it definitely felt different as I would never have imagined eating baked lobster at Pizza Hut.

The pork knuckle was soft and came off the bone easily covered in thick sweet black pepper and honey sauce, while the vegetables and gravy were laced in aromatic cumin seeds.

Prawn and scallops STAR BITES pizza and the mini pizza pictured together.
Each slice looks like a heart.

Chicken and peach STAR BITES pizza:
Tried both pizzas and the chicken and peach is for people who like it sweet because it is fruity with peach and pineapple pieces.
I liked the Prawn and scallops because it had olives, pepperoni and green peppers.
The pizza base was equally as good because it was soft with a chew and you can tell it is made from fresh dough.
The pizza edges were my favourite because I love cheese and it was stuffed with cheese and sausage.
Definitely coming back again for more cheesy pizzas!!
The fizzy drinks are always memorable because they are the fizziest compared to other drinks.

Weird pizza at Kravin Cafe

Stopped by because the tea selection looked promising.

Unfortunately the food wasn't that good.

Tried the pizza and pasta.
On the other menu, the English name for the pizza was naan.

Chicken and cashew pizza:

The pizza base was meant to be naan according to the English menu but it was actually puff pastry.
Puff pastry is fine as long the toppings taste nice but they were SWEET.
Luckily it was a small pizza which didn't take up my appetite to eat other stuff elsewhere.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Mexican spaghetti bolognaise:

The spaghetti was already precooked so it was just microwaved with the sauce on top.
I didn't like the sauce because it was watery and tasteless. There were kidney beans to make it look like Mexican food but it lacked Mexican spices.

Chicken Tikka Pizza

Tulsi is one of the best places for curry, but this time I went for the pizza because their lunch sets are quite funky.

They had interesting things like butter chicken fusilli.

The pizza base was a naan bread which had a soft and chewy texture, on top it was topped with delicious melted cheese, green peppers and chicken tikka.

Pizza with nduja sausage at Pizzeria JACOMAX (Sheung Wan)

Discovered this delicious Italian nduja sausage which is like a paste, so I ordered a plain pizza with nduja sausage.

The pizza was delicious, the base was thin and crispy and soft in the middle.
It was really tasty because there was thick tomato puree spread on it and the nduja sausage was spicy and salty which made the pizza delicious.

Delicious chicken tandoori drumettes

Pizza Max (Jordan)

Tried this restaurant because of sunflowerting's photo featuring Mo Mo on the menu which is Nepalese.

It was interesting because this shop is called Pizza Max which obviously serves pizza and pasta but they also serve Indian and Nepalese food.

I was meant to come here ages ago but I didn't know the had seating so I left it for a while.

Anyway finally made it there and the capacity for diners was bigger than I imagined.

They have simple sets which is quite a good deal because it includes a slice of pizza with nepalese dumplings or the chicken tandoori drumettes.

For lunch they have my favourite butter chicken curry and if you don't eat Indian food there is spaghetti bolognaise.

As well as those delicious selections they had my favourite pita bread and chips!!!

I really liked this cosy joint because it reminds me of London and the people that work there spoke good English.
The guy is Philipino which was hard to believe because he had no Philipino accent, but Philipino's are the best connoisseur for food.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Mo Mo with chili sauce:Mo Mo's are Nepalese dumplings which are served with chili sauce. The dumplings are made with onions.
There are three choices for dumplings at this place: steamed with tomato sauce, panfried with tomato chutney or steamed with onions, green peppers and sweet chili sauce.
I ordered the last one because the ones I have tried before came with Chili sauce.
I used to get them at 2 Star's Fast Food in Wan Chai but it takes ages for the dumplings.
Anyway, the dumplings were served soon after I ordered.

They looked delicious when they arrived and I imediately took them out and put them on another plate because the sauce was quite spicy. At other places you add the sauce yourself.
The sauce is different too. At this restaurant they have made a sauce especially for the dumplings rather than a condiment.
Anyway the dumplings were delicious, the minced chicken was packed with onions and the delicious sauce spiced it up.

The sweetness in that sauce was soothing too because the chili was very spicy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Buffalo chicken wing lollipops:Although they are called buffalo wings they were Indian style with Tandoori spices and mint sauce, but it stated that on the menu which was why I ordered it. I love TANDOORI chicken.
It was good the dumplings were served first because the taste of this was strong.

The drumettes were perfectly grilled. The skin was removed and the chicken had been loosened around the bone so that it was marinated all the way through and the chicken comes off the bone easily.

Parts of the chicken drumette were slightly crispy but it was not at all dry.
There was lots of thick tandoori paste on the chicken and the texture is hard to describe because it was velvety and almost felt like it had pate all over it.
The Tandoori chicken that I have tried before were usually chicken legs or chicken breast but here they have used the drumette part which makes it so tender and tasty.

I will be back for the butter chicken curry and pita bread!

The sweet music of the piccolo

http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2285961

Piccolo Pizzeria & Bar (灣仔)

Piccolo Pizzeria has many branches in Hong Kong, with its first in Tai Hang, then later they opened one in Kennedy Town.

When I saw reviews on this place, the pasta, chicken wings and fries looked really good.

I have always wanted to go to the branch in Tai Hang, but it was always fully booked and the seating there is cramped and when you are at Tai Hang, there are so many other irresistible restaurants.

I was so glad when I saw their new shop getting ready to open in Wan Chai, near the MTR, the restaurant here is more spacious too!

X marks the spot!

After Jamel told me it was opened I decided to go there!

The inside of the restaurant was spacious and it had a cowboy western appearance.

There is a glass window so you can see the chefs busy preparing the food.

Water is complimentary, but the menu for it is cute

Ordered the chicken wings, calamari fritti and aglio oili.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken Wings:

Before I ordered them, I thought they were buffalo wings but they said they were just deep fried, but the pictures in the reviews looked good so I got them anyway.
When they came, they looked like buffalo wings served with sauce.
The chicken wings were big compared to the local shriveled up chicken wings, but normal size if you've had chicken wings outside of Hong Kong.
The coating was light but had spices just like the buffalo wings and the lemon mayonnaise that came with it was really delicious. The chicken wings were also soft and juicy and the soft bones near the joints came off easily too.
The piping hot wings tasted delicious with the cooling mayonnaise which was refreshing because it had lemon in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Calamari Fritti - squid rings served with lemon mayo and arrabbiata sauce:

The squid rings had a lovely coating too which was light and crispy and the texture of the squid was still tender and soft.
The coating thickness was just right and was really nice because it had lots of herbs.
I am not sure what herb it was but it was either sage or rosemary.
There were two sauces for dipping, the tomato with garlic and the lemon mayonnaise, both were great compliments.
The tomato sauce was nice because it made the herbs on the coating come out more, while the lemon mayonnaise gave it a creamier taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Aglio olio with buccatini:

This was roasted garlic and chili in olive oil.
For the pasta I chose buccatini because it is rarely served and unavailable in other branches of Piccolo.
Buccatini is a pasta that looks like spaghetti but hollow inside like a straw.

The texture of the buccatini was lovely and al-dente cooked with generous slices of garlic tossed in olive oil with a slight hint of spiciness from the chili.
The buccatini was evenly tossed, each strand was covered in dark olive oil and herbs which was delicious.
The garlic they used were garlic slices which were dried ones because they had a slight crispy texture to it.

The amount of garlic slices were generous too, I still had a pile left after eating most of it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
On my next visit I really want to try the pasta with clams in white sauce too.
As a first visit to Piccolo I was impressed and I loved the atmosphere at this restaurant and the male waiter spoke good English.
