[SLEEEP] Sustainable sleeping!!!

I have always wanted to stay in a capsule hotel but haven't quite made it to Japan yet.
Recently a friend posted about sleeep, a capsule hotel in Hong Kong so I was delighted.

SLEEEP is a capsule hotel blending design & technology in promoting a sustainable culture.
One quality sleep at a time.

For me, I like the idea of privacy and being in my own little world just like when I was a kid playing in playhouses/dens/treehouses.
It is a place where I can get inspirations and think deeply.
I loved the capsules, they were much bigger than I anticipated with charging ports and a mini ledge for you to put your phone, glasses etc and most importantly wifi.

It was definitely comfy having a nap there with a choice of hard or soft mattresses.

The key role of sleeep is to provide quality sleep or a place for people to recharge themselves.
It is popular with people in Central/Sheungwan who have had a tiring day and finishing late so they decide to stay there as opposed to going home.
There are eight capsules with corresponding storage that flashes at your arrival, two toilets, sinks and a shower.
Each capsule is for one person only and if someone is naughty as they say the lights will flash red as shown in this video.

Facts about the amenities at sleeep:
Check-in from your device, arrive and skip all the hassle.
Smart lighting that is responsive to the circadian cycle.
Store your luggage and belongings in their full-height lockers

Locally sourced organic soap in the shower room.
Hot showers heated by the captured heat from the cooling system.

[Sinmei Tea] Honeylicious afternoon tea

Tried Sinmei's new matcha afternoon tea.

There are scones, Lamingtons, yoyos and topped waffles served with jam, matcha ganache and my favourite magic green sauce that is found in the Hakka thunder tea.

All my favourite sweet treats with a strong matcha taste.

As well as the tea, they are serving Hibiscus tea, Yuzu Australian black tea and the Matcha latte with fresh honeycomb flown from Brisbane's Bee One Third while stocks last.

My favourite was the hibiscus tea because it tastes natural compared to other places and the Yuzu Australian black tea goes well with sweet honey too.
Here is the matcha latte with honey which looks delicious with that foam cap on top.

[匯一小廚] Shanghainese grub in Sheung wan

At first I didn't know this place served Shanghainese food because the green characters looked Vietnamese style.

It didn't appeal to me at first because I didn't know they had rice dishes not shown on the menu outside.

Anyway, randomly tried this place because my friends were in the area and discovered they had other dishes as well as noodles.

One of the waitors was amusing because he yawns all the time loudly!
The place was a bit old and grubby.

Anyway the food was ok, you get soup and two bowls of rice.

The tofu was good even though it was the cheapest ingredient they had because the gravy was light but tasty.

The sweet and sour fish was a bit too sweet.

The noodles were disappointing because they looked delicious but it had a strong akaline taste and the salted meat came with cubes of fat which I threw away but the meat itself was nice and salty.

Tasteless at 大頭佛城隍廟

Went here for the scrambled egg with prawns and vegetable rice because the picture looked good.

When it came, it did look good with a decent egg smell and fluffy texture but unfortunately, it was totally tasteless that I had to add sauces to it.
On the bright side, I would recommend it to people on a low sodium intake!

Hong Kong comfort food at Noodle and Dog

At first I didn't realize this joint was selling Hong Kong comfort food until I got nearer to it.

The menu was simple: chicken wings, hot dogs and dog noodles.

I went for the hot dog which was only $15 so it was pretty affordable.
It came in a nicely designed box.

I didn't know what to expect for that price but it was not a frankfurter.

When I tasted it, it was strikingly similar to hot dogs at Wing Lok Yuen and the sauce was almost the same.
If the sausage and bun were softer then it would definitely taste the same at WLY.
To be honest, I prefer ketchup but this is Hong Kong style.

Make your five senses pop!~

Apart from Art Basel and Central arts fair you can also see some of the works exhibited at The Popsy Room.
It is a multi sensory gallery, by day it is an art exhibition and at night, it is a dining adventure with using various mediums, including sounds, sights tastes and aromas.
The current dining adventure features Zai Zai, which is on until 2nd May.
My favourite installation was the tall drawers that represent Zai Zai.
In each drawer, there is an item that represents her.
This is a great experience for people to be legally nosy!

I really enjoyed this experience so I hope to go to the next exhibition because they said it will be skulls and ribbons.

The Alter of Zai Zai Balik
Salmon with Curried Quinoa, Salmon Roe, Lemon Cream Fraiche.

It was nice having curried Quinoa because I liked the strong flavours which was calmed down by the cool cream fraiche.

Circus We Have All Watched Together
Orange Ginger Corn Soup, Piquillo Puree, Baby Corn

Next was the warming soup with a gentle sweet taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
The Alter of Zai Zai
Seared Scallop, Lobster Cream, Asparagus Risotto, Truffle Oil Caviar

Then there were two juicy scallops with an asparagus pierced through it accompanied with al dente risotto.

Women
Pan Seared Slow Cooked Sole, Pomelo Salad, Fresh Micro Herbs

This was definitely very feminine with the flowers and delicate fish that was shaped in a roll.

Searching for Zai Zai
Chicken Roll with Savoy Cabbage, Season Vegetable, Chestnut Puree, Chicken Jus

The chicken roll was really juicy and it was just like eating a whole chicken in one go because you could taste the thigh, breast and skin in one bite.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Women Chiffon
Cake, Mixed Fresh Berries, Lemon Cream, Strawberry Sorbet

From the cream, I knew I was going to like this and it was flawless, a fresh light cake covered in whipped cream that was not too sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
To finish off, there was a colourful palette of macarons.
