Hamataki in Tin Hau

A while ago I dined at Hamataki at Kowloon City so I immediately recognised the other branch in Tin Hau because of the sign surrounded by lightbulbs.

As it was lunch time, there was a good ramen deal with salad and a drink included.

Ordered a ramen lunch set and the grilled fish again because I remembered it was delicious at the Kowloon City branch.

Black garlic ramen:

When it arrived, the broth was bubbling because there is a pebble in the broth to keep the ramen hot while you're eating it.

The broth was thin but had a really strong garlic flavour that was quite bitter and the slice of pork was soft and fresh.
The salad that comes with it.
++++
My favourite grilled mackerel was moist and silky with a lovely salted taste.
It was so good that I ordered a rice to go with it.

+++++++++++++
We also had this avocado and cream cheese which went nicely with the crackers.
++++++
The silky tofu was a healthy fix as well.

A great joint with nice decor:

[Cafe Royal Garden] Decent bagels in Kowloon

Discovered this relaxing place for coffee when I was in the area.

The decor was quite nice and I loved the glass roof which made me feel like being in a greenhouse.

They specialize in coffee but I was there for the bagel.

It was impressive the vegetarian had spicy hummus in a location like that because not many people in Kowloon would know what hummus is.
It was certainly delicious but a bit too spicy.
$72 for a vegetarian bagel is too expensive for Kowloon as it does not include a drink.

[Dining at Murasaki] Purple romanticism

After seeing this delicious dish posted by PJ Moments I had to go and try it.
The dish I was after is available during lunch so went for lunch.

Dining at Muraski is spacious and has lots of tables with good privacy.
There is also a private room that can host lots of people as well.

For the lunch set, you get salad, steamed egg, mains, rice, pickles and dessert.

Started with salad which was crisp and sweet with a mix of greens.
The steamed egg was tasty crammed with lots of seafood topped with pretty salmon roe.
Personally I am not a fan of Japanese steamed egg but the one here was the best I have ever tried.

For the soup, it was red miso which is my favourite because it has a strong smell and miso taste.
Moving on to the Murasaki Chirashi, it looked just exactly like the photos, topped with uni, salmon roe, cucumber and egg.

The best thing is that it comes with a side of crispy sakura shrimps which have been roasted in the oven so it has a super crispy texture.

The rice gives you ricegasm without the crispy shrimps but when you add them, the flavour comes out even more and you can't stop eating it.
I wish there was more crispy shrimps!!

But anyway, the salmon roe, uni, crispy shrimps and cucumber just taste amazing together with the rice.
We also shared the sashimi set which was fresh with a good variety of sashimi.
My favourite was the baby eels, scallops and toro.

The lunch came with mango sorbet which was a sweet ending but we also had the highly recommended popping candy which turned out to be crazily delicious and my birthday surprise.

I was literally expect popping candy but it was Mandarin, lychee and guava pearls with pear brandy jelly and peach crushed ice with rice soup poured on it.

The pearls pop in your mouth with this heavenly liquid. The lychee and mandarin were my favourite and all the elements were not too sweet.

[Coffeeholic] Great food as well as Coffee

Recently discovered that this joint served enticing food so decided to try it out.

The decor inside is nice with a touch of French and English, while there are some French/Italian inspired dishes on the menu.

As the ground floor was full, we were seated upstairs.

Ordered the Italian braised beef, All day breakfast, Japanese matcha latte and Pink Himalayan sea salted caramel latte.
Despite the joint was busy, the food came extremely fast!!
++++++
All day breakfast:

I was looking forward to this and it was definitely good so I ate everything.

Rarely do I order breakfasts in HK because restaurants just put crap together like fake sausages and other weird stuff but everything on this plate was delicious.There was a hot spring egg, green salad, Pain de Mie, potato truffle salad, tornado wedges and avocado salad. I love potatoes so it was great there was potato salad as well as wedges.
The wedges were fried perfectly so they were not wasted and I even put some egg yolk and avocado on it to make it evilicious.

The potato salad was divine, they were not too soft and starchy with a potato taste as well as truffle.
I loved the way the salad was jazzed up with tasty sundried tomatoes and yummy macadamia nuts.

++++++
Italian braised beef:

A nice dish of braised beef in tomato sauce, again paired with these delicious tornado wedges and healthy avocado salad.
++++++
Japanese matcha latte:

The matcha latte is served with a side of Okinawa black sugar but it tasted good without so I didn't need it.
It had a pleasant taste without being too grassy or bitter and the sakura flower spoon is so pretty.
++++++
Pink Himalayan sea salted caramel latte:

Beautifully presented and the foamed cap was lovely with a decent saltiness to compliment the latte.
++++++
Finished with warm brownies.
Both were good especially the chocolate.
