Smoked salmon and egg salad sandwich @ Pacific Coffee

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Smoked salmon and egg salad sandwich:
Got this sandwich because salmon and egg were an interesting combination which I have not tried before.
There was quite alot of salad in the sandwich which made it quite healthy such as cucumber and lettuce.
However the taste of the egg was really faint because the salmon was strong but you could feel the starchy texture of the egg.
I am not sure if there was any MSG but I felt really thirsty after the sandwich!

Soft Raspberry cheesecake @ Pacific Coffee

I got this raspberry cheesecake because the raspberry layer looked light and airy and I thought it would be soft because its name said so. However, the cheesecake did not turn out to be soft and it was quite heavy.

The raspberry taste was not strong enough and the cheese was quite heavy.

Egg white and salmon ciabatta @ Pacific Coffee

After trying the delicious Starbucks egg white delight ciabatta [http://supersupergirl-dining.blogspot.hk/2012/06/egg-white-delight-ciabatta-starbucks.html]
I discovered that Pacific coffee had a similar version.
It was egg white with pieces of salted salmon and spinach.
Basically it was quite nice, the egg white with salmon and spinach is similar to their quiche filling.
The ciabatta was nice because it was topped with pieces of grounded wheat.

Chicken and Leek pie
This however did not taste so nice and explains why it is the last item to be sold.
The chicken is not that fresh and the pie crust and pastry is really hard and dry.

Chocolate and hazelnut delight @ Pacific Coffee

Saw two new items: Chocolate and hazelnut delight and Pumpkin and ham quiche.
Decided to try the Chocolate and hazelnut delight and save the Pumpkin quiche option for when I am hungrier.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Chocolate and hazelnut delight
The cake looked like an opera cake with different layers however it was really hard and the cream layers were brittle and dry.
The top layers tasted nice but the bottom most layer was dry and hard.
There was not much hazelnut taste or any hazelnuts in this cake.
Overall if the cake was much softer I would have liked it.

Pumpkin and ham quiche @ Pacific Coffee

There are now four quiche flavours at Pacific Coffee, the latest addition is Pumpkin and Ham.

The salmon and the spinach & mushroom used to be my favourite but now it is Pumpkin and Ham.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pumpkin and Ham quiche:
As always their quiches taste really nice but it is slightly oily and there is some MSG in it.
I like their quiches because it doesn’t taste so eggy and there is cheese on top. The one I had this time was pumpkin and ham, the pumpkin and ham was cut to thin slices.
The pumpkin was nice and molten, it was UNSUGARED which was good because the Chinese have a thing about putting sugar with pumpkin and in savoury dishes.
The ham in the quiche was from the same supplier, the same ham they put in their croissant which is dry and rubbery with a tough edge.
Overall I really liked it and if they had used a softer ham it would taste better.

Caramel cheesecake @ Pacific Coffee Company

I can’t remember when I last visited Pacific Coffee because their food selection is so boring and repetitive.
They seem to have new items every three-four months so you are not missing out much if you do not go regularly.

This time they had the new Caramel cheesecake, which had a reasonably thick caramel flavoured cheese base.

The taste was really nice and similar to butterscotch however the texture was too dense and thick that most of the cheese gets stuck to the fork.
The caramel cheesecake was composed of a soft dense biscuit base, a thick layer of caramel cheese, a layer of cheesecake and thick brittle dehyrated caramel cream on top.

Chocolate truffle cake and Colourful lamingtons @ Pacific Coffee

I love trying new things at Pacific coffee, so far I have tried their summer coolers such as the Cranberry and mixed berry, and the Cranberry and strawberry.

I tried the mixed berry one first, a bit of disappointed, the berry taste was a bit fake. The strawberry one was better, not that artificial. But in general the Chillinos served at Pacific coffee consists primarily of crushed ice and syrup. It doesn’t taste milky. It tastes Ok when you drink it immediately, but as I can’t, I drink it slowly, but when you leave it for a while, the ice and the liquid separates, so your left with flavoured watery liquid at the bottom.

The next thing I tried were the colourful Lamingtons, cube shaped sponged cakes, with cream in the middle, dipped in shredded coconut.
I think there are 8 flavours, passion (orange), mango (orange), blood orange (red), blackcurrent (purple), apple (green), guava (pink), chocolate, coffee (both brown.

The texture of the Lamingtons are nice and soft, with light cream oozing from the centre, the coconut is light and fresh, and not dry due to being in the fridge too long.

The lastest cake I tried was the Chocolate Truffle cake, I was expecting a rich thick centre, but I was greeted with crunchy chocolate in the middle.
There was lots of chocolate mousse on the outside, not the bitter tasting one.
But overall it tasted OK.
