Crispy fishes with rice @ Quezon Pinoy Food Expres

Came here again for their food, the portions are quite small but it tastes like home cooked food so it was quite healthy.
Today picked the fried fishes.
There was also other fried fishes which I will try next time.

Deep fried fishes:
The fried fishes were hard and bitter.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green beans:
The beans were fresh and non oily.
They were slightly too hard and perhaps a tinge too salty.

Delicious buko pie again @ Quezon Express

After dining at Greyhound and having the coconut crepe, I remembered that Quezon also has a similar pie which also has young coconut meat.
It only costs $10 per slice.

When I got there, they had new items in the cooked section AGAIN!~
Everytime I come here, there is always something new in the cooked section to tempt me to try.
This time I tried the grilled chicken leg.

When you order you can pick two items with rice which costs around $25-27 depending what you pick.
It generally costs more if you pick fish, steak or chicken.

Grilled chicken leg:
The grilled chicken legs looked nice behind the counter even though it was covered in pink/red sauce.
The taste was sweet and the chicken was nicely grilled, however it was hard eating it using the plastic fork and spoon provided.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Bamboo shoots:
I do not know what the dish is called but it was really nice because bamboo shoots were soaked in vinegar and cooked with chili so it tasted spicy as well.
The taste of the bamboo was also woody but it did not have that weird smell the yellow bamboo shoots have.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Buko pie:
This was delicious as expected and I loved the crust because it was soft and not overbaked.
The young coconut was slightly hard this time and needed a knife to cut this pie.
The sweetness was just right as well.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
As well as the buko pie, the egg pie is also delicious:
I also like the way they have their own packaging which is made of card so the food doesnt taste and smell of PFC.

Philippino chicken empanada

Saw this pie at a Philipino convenient store and the size was smaller than the usual pies so thats why I got it.
It was nicely wrapped in paper, after reheating it I tried it and it turned out to be chicken pie.

The filling could have been better mixed because it was saltier in some bites.
Inside the pie there was chicken, peas and surprisingly some raisins!

Fried fish @ Quezon

Not sure what fish this is but it was delicious, all the bones were mostly taken out.
All of it was edible and it tasted tangy because it had been soaked in vinegar.

Laing @ Quezon

Laing is a Bicolano dish and fiery hot.

Initially I did not know what it was but I knew they were different from ordinary spinach.

Liang is dried taro leaves cooked in coconut mik with anchovies and chili, the one I had was delicious but it could have been less salty.

The taro leaves need to be cooked thoroughly because raw taro leaves contain crystals of calcium oxalate.

Omelette @ Quezon

Again Philippino food is amazing they have so much variety and something different everytime I go.
This time I tried an omelette which is really different from Western omlettes, it is moist inside and I think it has aubergines according to Philipino recipes.
It has a grilled surface which looks burnt but actually it tastes ok.

Happy me @ Jollibee

A really good place for Philippino food, I was surprised, there were not many reviews during that burger madness period.

During this visit, I tried the Palabok, Savory Beef rice, Wonton noodles and the Pearl coolers.

Palabok:My favourite, glass noodles with thick shrimp sauce.
Although the flavour was not strong or salty enough, it was good with lemon juice.
The sauce was a bit thick.

Wontons:A bit bizzarre seeing wonton noodles in a Philipino hamburger shop, so ordered it,
very strong taste in garlic, with glass noodles.
Also the wontons were wrapped different to the chinese one, u can see the prawn.
The portion was very small.

Savory beef rice:Yummy minced beef in tomato sauce and rice. (forgot to take pic)

Pearl Coolers:Very strong in coconut taste, and very sweet!
