[Review] Meatless Meatballs at Subway for Veganuary in UK

Subway has also launched something meatless for Veganuary so I decided to try it.
They were offering meatless meatballs in the form of a sub or just as a snack.

Since I have already eaten something beforehand, I just had the meatballs with vegan cheese.

The vegan cheese came in the form of slices and they melted like normal cheese.

I was won over by the cheese because of the texture and taste but the meatballs were a bit disappointing as they were firm and tasteless like Beyond Meatballs.

According to the the reply by Subway_UKI on instagram they use meatless meatballs by Nestle and vegan cheese from Violife.

The Opera House, Tunbridge Wells

I am not fond of JD Weatherspoons but visited The Opera House because of the fact it was an opera house turned pub.
You get to eat on stage and appreciate the views of the seating on the balcony and the opera house surroundings.

As well as The opera house, The Counting House used to be owned by the Bank of Scotland where you can eat in the vault!
The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas has a cell while you can dine in a church at The West Kirk, Ayr.

[Review] £2.49 Pizza deal at Dominos

Pizzas takeaways are getting cheaper and more competitive these days not to mention sourdough pizzas which are also trending.

At Dominos, you can now get a pizza deal with two toppings for 2.49 from 12-4pm.
If you google this, you will find that it was only 1.99 some time ago!

Anyway, tried this pizza deal and it was not bad.
The quality is just your usual pizza while the taste depends on what you chose!
The pizza is sliced which makes it convenient to eat.

[Review] Wetherspoons

Unfortunately had to come here a few times with friends because they wanted to dine here.
Personally I don't like it because it is consistently bad.

The fried items are usually overdone.

The beef in the chili con carne had weird chewy bits in them.

The poppadoms were not evenly fried which can be seen on the edge as it is a different colour.

For Christmas, the menu does not have a price but you have to ask the staff for the price which is annoying.

On another visit, tried the vegan burger which was deep fried to the point that it was just crunchy unlike other restaurants where they grill it.
The chips included with the vegan burger had bits of batter among it so I suspect the chips were fried with other stuff hopefully vegan!!

Spicy coated prawns looked good but everything was tasteless!

The Mixed grill looked convincing but you would see the pork chop and gammon were almost looking the same!
The only thing I liked was the lamb which was edible but I wouldn't say tasty!

[Review] Meatless Farm Co's Burger at Wetherspoons for Veganuary

To be honest, I am not a fan of Weatherspoons because the food there consistently fails to impress whichever branch I go to.
Unfortunately, I was there again because friends want to eat there so I ordered the Meatless Farm Co's Burger.

Meatless Farm products has upped their game as you wil find them on most supermarket shelves of UK. They were also at the HOFEX food trade show in Hong Kong.
At the trade show I sampled the Meatless mince chili con carne style which was convincing so I was expecting their burger to be good as well.

The Meatless Farm Chili Con Carne .

Meatless Farm uses a blend of natrual ingredients including pea, soy and rice protein, chicory root and carrot fibre.

At Weatherspoons, the burger clearly was deep fried and not grilled so I was not impressed as it was very crunchy.
Perhaps it was the crunchiest vegan patty I have tried compared to Beyond and Impossible.
As for the taste, it was I would rate Impossible being the first, Meatless as second and Beyond last because Beyond has a strong aftertaste which might have improved by now.
Meatless Farm patty tasted good in the sense that there was no bean taste but there was an interesting Marmite unami taste to it.

There are two versions of the Vegan burger at Weatherspoons, one with avocado salsa and the plain one which I tried because I wanted to try what the patty taste likes on its own.

Overall, I am pleased with the Meatless burger.
I will definitely try it again if I see it at another restaurant (not Weatherspoons) and hopefully they do a better job of it.
