Say hej! to the IKEA limited-edition LGBT+ rainbow cake

It has been a while since my last visit for cakes at IKEA so went during the train strike as there was no where to go.
I was lucky to go there before the cafe closed as the cake selection is different from the main dining area.
As well as getting some hot food, I just couldn't resist having three cakes to myself because I didn't feel like revisiting again and often by the time I get there the cafe is closed.

For savoury food, I had the meatballs, plant balls, prawn sandwich and for cakes I had the vegan chocolate raspberry cake, LGBT+ rainbow cake and the strawberry tart.
The meatballs tasted how it should but I was glad I tried the plant balls which were much better with a nice texture.
The gravy tasted slightly different to the meat one.

The prawn sandwich was an open sandwich of prawns on rye bread which is really popular in Sweden.

Finished with the cakes which are good especially the chocolate raspberry vegan which is a total improvement compared to the last as the texure was moist and fudgy like a missipi mud cake.
The rainbow cake was layers of tasty coloured vanilla sponge.

Vietnamese egg coffee at Caphe house

Discovered Caphe House when I was on my food tour in Bermondsey.
I don't drink coffee much but Vietnamese coffee is a coffee that I drink because I love the sweet layer of condensed milk at the bottom.
Vietnamese egg coffee is even better with an additional layer of egg whip on top which is sweet and dreamy.
You can also dip biscuits and stuff to indulge the egg whip gooey layer which I felt was similar to liquid meringue.
Although the coffee overall is extremely sweet, I highly recommended this heavenly coffee.
As well as coffee, I also tried the pho but it was a bit too expensive and the broth could have been better as it was not bold enough and the pho noodles were not as silky as this other place I tried.
In terms of price, it was a bit expensive for the mixed beef compared to other places.

Caphe House serves Vietnamese pho staples plus summer rolls, lettuce wraps & coffee so this is going to be on my list to go soon.

The new girly pink Coco & Kiki kebabs at German Doner Kebab GDK UK

The beef doner is always good at GDK but as a curious foodie, it is always hard revisiting as there is always something new to try elsewhere.
I made a revisit to GDK for Coco and Kiki which is basically a The original German doner kebab in a cute pink coconut-infused toasted waffle bread.
The difference between the Coco and Kiki is the size where kiki is the mini one for £3 and Coco is the full size for £6.99.
Overall, the new kebab tastes just as good as the original with a touch of sweetness and a girly twist because of the colour and sweet ingredients.

Tea at Make Mine

Make Mine is a nice corner deli that lets you customize sandwiches, bagels, salads and wraps.
Interestingly they serve Katsu rice as well.
To be honest, I have not tried their food but go in there for a quick drink to chill out.
Overall a great place to have some peace and quiet in the hustle and bustle of Soho.
One time I was there, they had a huge corporate order so I appreciate the way they stop taking orders until they have finished the big order.

Chips at Hobsons in Soho

I am always in the area so pass by Hobsons quite a lot but never tried it.
Saw people outside eating fish and chips which looked promising as the chips were perfectly golden in colour so I went in for some chips.
Unfortunately, my batch of chips were too dark and the texture was too dry for my liking.
The fish menu was rather limited as it didn't have huss or haddock and stuff like that.

Wendy's burger in Camden Town

Wendy's burger chain is popping up all over UK now!
With branches in Croydon, Stratford, Romford and now Camden.
The Camden branch is special in the sense that Wendy gets a new look with a punk hairstyle and other styles.
It occupies the former ex-Royal Bank of Scotland location.

Black forest cake at Heaven's cakes in Romford

A few months ago, I spotted this cake shop on the corner about to open so I waited until it was running smoothly to try it.
On a recent visit, Heaven's cake were finally open and they had a good range of cakes and treats in the cabinet so I stopped by to try the blackforest cake which is made with fresh cream.
Overall, it was really nice and I appreciate that home made factor.
The only downside was that it was a little too sweet to finish it off and I would have liked to see tea on the menu rather than canned drinks.

Address: Liberty shopping centre, Romford RM1 3RT
