[Ice Monkey] Softserve and caviar anyone?

I was in K-Town to try Jack’s fried chicken but unfortunately it has closed down so I went to no soup curry instead.
After the curry I went here for dessert.

There were icecreams, smoothies and this weird softserve and caviar so I went for the weird.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
softserve and caviar:

The softserve and caviar tasted surprisingly good together because the softserve was not too creamy or too sweet otherwise this would have made the caviar taste weird.
The caviar that was served was quite good quality because they were crisp with bursts of saltiness which is similar to softserves with fancy salt.
The only improvement would be the presentation, it looks a bit sloppy with prized caviar just about to drop from the edge.

Chinese style Louisiana chicken at Pizza Hut

Obviously Hong Kong's Pizza Hut did not do research on LOUISIANA or CREOLE food!

I ordered the Risotto with Louisiana Spicy chicken which looked like prawn Jambalaya in the picture.

Anyway, when it came, I was like WTF!

Basically it was white rice topped with tomato sauce, unseasoned chopped chicken pieces which were white, a few kidneys beans and green pepper which was hilarious especially the kidney beans because this is not chili con carne!

On the product picture, there are olives which is even more funny.

If you google Louisiana it should be fried chicken, but anyway from the product picture it looks like they were trying to make Jambalaya but it is missing Cajun and Okra.

Anyway, the dish was overpriced and just tasted like rice with tomato sauce.

As well as the food, the seating was weird.

The table that I was given was intimately close to the other table and as a slim person I had difficulty getting to the inner seat so I didn't bother and sat on the outer seat.
Luckily, the staff were nice and offered to change tables for me!

Good food at an ice skating rink

Agan, I am trying to try all the joints at Tai O Building so this was the next one.
When I went in I nearly skidded because the floor was covered in grease and you can see the marks after you walk on it.

The lunch sets are really good because they include soup and a main for $30 only.
The chicken and rice was a big portion but half the chicken was bones, the spring onion and ginger puree was good because it was finely chopped and not too salty which went well with the rice and chicken.

Anyway, had to carefully leave this place because the floor was so slippery.

Dude, get off ur phone at 台北狀元香滷味

Had to wait bloody ages because the woman who was cooking the food was on the bloody phone.
There was a total mix up with orders!

Basically you choose what you want with rice.
I hate the rice because it was Japanese pearl rice which is hard and heavy.
Finally tried the Taiwanese blood sausage and taro thing and they were was sweet so I didn't like it.
The tofu fared better and the chicken gizzard was not soft enough.

A slice of watermelon bread

Previously, this shop used to be Nicoles Patisserie but now it is called Tomakukki but they also sell Nicole's cookies.

The star at Tomakukki is the watermelon bread.

I have always wanted to try it because it is a loaf of bread that looks like a watermelon.

Thanks to mkk for sharing a slice with me.

It doesn't have any distinct watermelon taste so it tastes like normal bread and it tastes nice with jam or spread that you would normally put on it.

Black dried shrimps at Pho Saigon

As soon as I got the menu, the waiter gave me 2 seconds to look at the menu and expected me to order by standing there like a lemon.

Ordered the 檬粉 mung noodles in crab roes and tomato broth.

When it came, it was just ordinary rice noodles in the broth.

There were pieces of pitch black dried shrimps which looked like mice droppings.

The crab roe was the weirdest crab roe I have seen, it was crap and clumped together, the taste and texture was so weird.

As for the beef, it was dry and salty.

This restaurant has a weird style because they sprinkle sesame on top of almost everything.

Starbucks deformed red velvet cake

Although LLWL has reviewed this, I still wanted to try it even though I knew the taste was going to be bad.
There were quite a few in the cabinet and one was deformed with the filling exposed.

I knew I was going to served the deformed one but I couldn't be bothered to ask her for a different one as I knew it wasn't going to taste good.

Here was my deformed red velvet cake.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
deformed red velvet cake:

The taste was weird, and the cake was dense and mushy with a strong buttery smell and taste.
As it was deformed the filling was not runny but it a thick paste!
There are no other words to describe the taste other than a dough taste with smelly butter.
It reminded me of Kid's Calpol fever medicine which is thick and has a bright pink colour.
For Xmas I would have appreciated berries and not red beans on top because I hate red beans!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Although the cake was crap, the Xmas drinkware was quite nice.

My favourite one!

Halloween Tai Cheong jumpbo pandan egg tart cake

Previously tried the huge jumbo egg tart cake at Tai Cheong which got popular.
At first they began with the lemon flavour and then they launched the chocolate one.
For Halloween, they have the new pandan flavour as well as the other two flavours with Halloween images on it.

The lady at the till forgot to add the Halloween images on it.
When I started taking photos of the promotional poster she realized she forgot about the Halloween finishing on the cake and offered to add it for me but as it was just icing sugar that will make the cake sweeter I did not bother with it.

As well as forgetting that, she also forgot that there was a special box for it that says jumbo eggtarts.

Anyway, the egg tart cake tasted the best out of the three flavours.
Initially I was skeptical because I tried their Japanese Pandan cheesecake and didn't like it.

But the egg tart cake version is definitely good because it has triple pandan flavour, there is a layer of pandan cake, pandan cream and pandan pudding layer.

Stunning black egg at Lazy Hog

Dined at Lazy Hog because of the black egg!

Lazy Hog is located on Bridges Street.

Here was what I had:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pineapple lime:

It was a pineapple steak at the bottom with pineapple carpaccio slices on top drizzled with lime juice and fine lime peel shavings.
This was very refreshing to start off with especially with the tangy lime juice and juicy pineapple.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Squid ink egg salad:
It had a great presentation and definitely worth ordering.
The egg was BLACK and looked like a black burrata.

However I was slightly disappointed that it was solid all the way through because there was meant to be liquid oozing out from the middle as shown on the previous review.

It would be great if it had liquid vibrant orange yolk in the middle or something runny to mix with the salad leaves.

Although it did not have a runny centre, it tasted so amazing with a strong squid ink taste.
When I eat squid, the taste is similar to egg white so when delicate egg white was infused with squid ink, the taste and texture was divine.
The pieces of toasted bread were nice but a little too crispy.
As an alternative I would not mind having soft pieces of squid ink bread instead.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Digital bill:

They also give you a printed receipt as well and I kept the change because one of the fifty cent coins was a really old one.
