Smoking softserve

Soft Creme is famous for softserve but as it was sold out I only tried the champagne.

There are quite a few flavours and some have piece of honeycomb or a macaron on top.

Colourful wafer cones.

The wow factor at Soft Creme is the dry ice.

First, dry ice is put into the cups and another smaller cup sits on top of that.

Champagne softserve:

The champagne taste was evidently strong and on the poster it says the alcoholic content is 11%, so one cup of that is equivalent to a glass of champagne.
It had bitter strong champagne taste and the texture was just like sorbet.

A lovely cuppa at DK Cuppa Tea

I love tea but I was contemplating whether to try this place or not because aroma oils do my head in and make me dizzy.
Since I was checking out SOHO fish and chips, I decided to go in and see if the smell would knock me out.

Luckily I could cope with the aroma fragrance so I got the Holiday Dreams which is coconut and pineapple infused tea with honey (pina colada).

While I was waiting, I smelt the other teas and the chocolate and lavender tea was quite interesting.

On the tables, they have floral sugars.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Holiday Dreams:

The tea was nicely labelled with a silver elastic string and tea information.

Basically the tea was made in a shaker, hence the pretty froth which reminds me of Taiwanese fruit teas.

The tea tasted natrual with a strong pineapple taste and it actually tasted like real pina colada.

Maxim's fruity Sanrio cup jellies!

I love these new Sanrio series featuring Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kerokerokeroppi and Pom Pom Purin which cost $32 each.

Hello Kitty and My Melody are obviously the most popular ones.

All four cups are fruit shaped with Hello Kitty as an apple, My Melody as a cherry, Kerokerokeroppi as a watermelon and Pom Pom Purin as a satsuma!

They are so cute when you put them together!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Hello Kitty:

Milk pudding with pineapple jelly.
This was my favourite with chunks of pineapple.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
My Melody:

Milk pudding with blackcurrant jelly.
This was also my favourite with lots of fruit in the blackcurrant jelly.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kerokerokeroppi:

Milk pudding with lime jelly.
Lime lovers are going to love the refreshing lime jelly and milk pudding.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pom Pom Purin:
Mango pudding

I am not a fan of mango, so didn't try this.

Marks & Spencer's Earl Grey cuppa

Starbucks and Pacific Coffee were full so came here for tea.

There was a good choice and it was only $20 per cup.

Since I have already bought their Jasmine teabags I decided to get the Earl Grey.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Earl Grey tea:
It was really good that they put the cup in an extra cup so that you won't burn your fingers.

The teabag contains good quality leaves which you can see.

The tea had an earthy earl grey taste and it was not as flowery as I would have liked.
The bergamot was not strong enough so next time I will stick with the Jasmine.

Luxurious Hairy Crab Roe Set Menu at Shanghai Lo

This is one of the best Hairy crab meals I have tasted this year and the price was affordable too!
It was Shanghainese food with crab roe without the fuss of eating the hairy crab itself.
It costs $498 per person which includes a starter, main course, dim sum, dessert and ginger soup.

After having this meal, you are definitely going to feel guilty because the photos will reveal why.
You will see that it is pure crab roe and crabmeat and generous amounts of it too with vibrant glistening crab oil surrounding it!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Starters:

To begin with we had Crispy bean curd sheet rolled with mushrooms, tea leaf smoked egg, garlic cucumber.
All of them were delectable especially the bean curd sheet roll and the creamy thick molten yolk from the egg which I used to dip the bean curd sheet in.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Sauteed bean sheets with hairy crab roe:
To begin with, there was my favourite bean sheets which tasted so nice with crab roe, they were hot and springy and the hot crab roe was fragrant with golden orange crab oil coming from it.

Crispy rice with hairy crab roe:

It was interesting to see rice crackers in an Oriental dish, but these crackers were light and crispy with a roasted rice taste which went well with the savoury crab roe.
The crackers were rather filling.

Braised beancurd with hairy crab roe:

More crab roe and this time it was paired with protein rich tofu which was silky and smooth.
Lasagne with hairy crab roe:

This was the final dish and my favourite because it was a fusion of Italian pasta sheets with crabmeat and crabroe.
I loved the texture of the pasta sheets which were firm and neatly layered.
When I used chopsticks to break it into smaller pieces the lasagne did not collapse.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Steamed pork dumpling with hairy crab roe:

The set finished with a plump pork dumpling oozing with pork and crab roe broth in the middle.
It was a satisfying meal because there were lots of carbohydrates and proteins to satisfy your hunger.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Dessert was black sesame dumpling in ginger soup which I didn't try.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Ginger tea:

Ginger tea is always paired with hairy crab meal.
The ginger tea had a nice fiery kick to it and it was sweet which made it less spicy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
The environment at this place is really classy and modern.

At the entrance on the ground floor, there is a really cheerful guy who I used to see working at the Causeway Bay branch of SASA cosmetics.
That guy has so much energy and charisma that he should be offered roles in movies or MTVs.
If it was not for him, I would have walked past Shanghai Lo without knowing it!!
Anyway, I will be back for the dim sum soon.

Softserve with a *sparkle*

Honey Sparkling Desserts House (Mong Kok)

As I was in the area, stopped by for some softserve.
This place was opened a while ago but I wasn't motivated in trying because I don't like honeycomb.

Since softserve and honeycomb have become really popular, I decided to try it because this place and Honey Granny were the earlier trendsetters before the later ones such as Softree, Honey Creme and all that!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lazy holiday:
I did take a photo but it must have got deleted!!!
It was basically softserve with their homemade lemon sauce and a small piece of honeycomb.
I chose this one because of the homemade lemon sauce and I was glad I chose this because the lemon sauce was decent, it had lemon peel in it which made it taste bitter so at least it was memorable and stands out from other lemons sauces.
It was also quite sour so the pairing of softserve and lemon was refreshing while the honey added some sweetness to it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green tea waffle:

The waffle was free because they are now giving away waffles when you get a softserve.
There are four flavours: original, rose, chocolate and green tea.
I chose the green tea which had a light green tea flavour without being tooo sweet, the waffle was mildly dense and crispy on the outside.
