Vegetable detox water at DK Cuppa Tea

Went here because it was nice and quiet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Detox water:

Normal detox waters are made with fruit but this was made of vegetables.
The detox water had a sweet onion taste and the vegetables were icy cold, crisp and sweet because it came straight from the fridge.

Afternoon tea at Sift

Sift is famous for cupcakes but now they have tea sets as well.
Discovered this after dining at Bocadito on the way to the MTR but it was not really noticeable so I had to stop and look twice because the place was dark.

The tea set I tried costs $160 per person or $300 for two.

Tea set menu:

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
The actual tea set:

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Savory tier:

-Spinach quiche
-lorraine quiche
-Chicken and mushroom vol au vent
All the savory bites were nice and delicious, the spinach quiche was my favourite.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Second tier:

-Gougere
-Scones with jam and clotted cream
The gougere was a light savoury cheesy puff.
After I had the puff, I devoured the crumbly scones paired with delicious clotted cream.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Third tier:
Red velvet cupcakes
Triple chocolate cupcakes

Started on the cupcakes because they were too cute and they were moist and rich.
++++++++++++++
Salted butter and caramel macarons
Strawberry macarons

Then I had the salted butter macaron which was sweet with a nice salty balance.
++++++++++++++
Ispahan

Chocolate hazelnut crunch

The last two were a perfect end to tea.

Hong Kong comfort food at Noodle and Dog

At first I didn't realize this joint was selling Hong Kong comfort food until I got nearer to it.

The menu was simple: chicken wings, hot dogs and dog noodles.

I went for the hot dog which was only $15 so it was pretty affordable.
It came in a nicely designed box.

I didn't know what to expect for that price but it was not a frankfurter.

When I tasted it, it was strikingly similar to hot dogs at Wing Lok Yuen and the sauce was almost the same.
If the sausage and bun were softer then it would definitely taste the same at WLY.
To be honest, I prefer ketchup but this is Hong Kong style.

Possibly a musubi burger? Not A Burger

This place has a catchy name because it is called NOT A BURGER so it gets you curious on what it is going to look like.

Walked past and discovered that they use rice as the burger with fillings that are not patties. There were so many choices to choose from.

On the wall, there is a poster of rice vs bread but I don't quite agree with the blood glucose argument because rice has a high glycemic index and the rice that they serve here is pearl rice.

It was the perfect treat for me because I love rice and the rice had bits of seaweed mixed into it.
I chose the ham rice burger because I like luncheon meat (spam) but I requested it without kimchi because I am allergic to that.

The staff could have been more helpful because there was a folded stool and they didn't really give me any indication I could use it but I assumed it was for customers.
Anyway, I tried to unfold it but had difficulty figuring out how to unfold it and they were not really helpful or even offered to help but in the end I figured it out.

Ham rice burger:
When it came, it was wrapped in a cute foil wrap.
After I asked for cutlery they gave me a plate which was helpful. The burger looked like two plain musubis with luncheon meat and tuna mayo in the middle. The spam slice was rather thin and the the tuna mayo had delicious cubes of radish in it which balanced the mayonnaise with a sharp crunch.

The warm rice and fried spam was just delicious together.
The tuna mayo was nice but I would have liked a simpler option of just rice and a thick slice of spam!

Happy noodles at Delight Noodles

Found this neat and clean place for cart noodles.

The menu is clear and simple and you tick what you want.

Note: There is a minimum order of a noodle and two toppings per person.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cart noodles:

The pork knuckles were a bit pale and could be tastier.
As for the shitaake mushrooms, they were huge and hard to pick up with chopsticks.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Signature noodles:

These noodles were amazing, each strand was distinct tossed in delicious sesame oil and secret sauce topped with fragrant dried sakura shrimps, sesame and spring onions.
It is a pity you have to order other toppings because it tastes perfect on its own and doesn't need other items.
Luckily the toppings are served separately so the sauce does not get mixed with the noodles.
Anyway, definitely coming back for this!

Honeydew melon icelolly at Isee Isee

Since my last visit, there are more flavours.

This time I tried the melon which tasted really natrual and sweet with a prominent honey dew melon taste.
The texture was just right with a nice bite that was not too icy or crumbly.

I didn't order the Earl Grey but they now sprinkle more pistachio nuts which is good.
The average icelolly costs $4x

Spanish Mexican tapas at Bocadito

Previously went here for lunch but the lunch menu should be changed because it does not show case how wonderful the food is.
For lunch they had options like fish and chips, pastas which is not tapas!

If I had not tried the evening, I would not have known how wonderful the food is.

At night, you enter the surrealistic restaurant through Gaudi's big mouth!

The restaurant was dreamy.

The chef is Mexican and was trained in Spain, hence his Mexican touch to the tapas.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Raspberry Daquiri with Chocolate Rim:

Started off with this refreshing raspberry drink that was not too sweet or syrupy.
It was lovely on a hot evening and the chocolate powder rim balances the tartness of the raspberry.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Aceitunas aliñadas $45

Theses were olives marinated with lemon, garlic and bay leaves.
They were salty and appetizing start to the meal but the lemon was not strong enough.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tortilla de patatas $75

I loved the Spanish potato omelette because the egg was fluffy and soft with silky potatoes in it.
To be honest, this was too good to share!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Gambas al ajillo $130

These were prawns sauteed in olive oil with garlic, parsley, chilli and white wine.
Each prawn was really springy and tasty, but perhaps a little too salty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
TAQUITOS Little Tacos:

These tacos were colourful topped with silky tofu, grilled bell peppers, purple cabbage and guacamole.
Basically tasty and healthy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Bacalao a la vizcaina con arroz a la mexicana $245

Ordered this because I love carbs and rice!
It was cod and rice smothered in sauce made of capers, olives and raisins with a hint of chili.
For improvements, the cod temperature should be hotter when it is served.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cheese platter

As well carbs, cheese is a must for me!
On this plate was quince jelly, Fig jam, Goats cheese, Manchego, Gondola and Brie!
Basically, this was heaven but the goats cheese was a bit too strong for me.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Catalan creme:

The Catalan creme was amazing too, it was creamy and thick.
