Crab Feast at Broadway Macau

From 1st September until 31st October 2016, Broadway Macau is serving 12 varieties of delectable crab dishes during this Crab Feast at different restaurants at the Broadway.

Customers who orders a "Crab Feast" dish has a chance to win a Vespa scooter and a luxurious stay at Banyan Tree Macau.

For more details of the crab feast and conditions:

We tried all the different styles and it really depends on whether you like it light, plain, spicy or cooked in curry.
Now is the season for crab when they are at its best.

For curry there are three different styles: Thai, Portuguese or Chinese.

My personal favourites were the Hunan Style and the crab from Lei Ka Choi because I love spicy dishes but I also liked the King crab which was quite basic.

Gourmandise afternoon tea at Ritz-Carlton cafe

I was recommended this place by famous blogger siuyeadragon. He recommended the chocolate afternoon tea which I had to try because it was coming from someone who is not keen on chocolate.

Ritz-Carlton cafe is a lovely French Brasserie with black and white decor with beautiful chandeliers.

We ordered the Gourmandise afternoon tea designed by guest Pastry Chef Bertrand Ducauroy and Chef RaphaĆ«l Kinimo which comes with hot chocolate topped with French whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
(Available from now until the end of the year.)

Started with the hot chocolate which was served in this elegant cup with thick whipped cream on top and shaved chocolate.
The hot chocolate was extremely rich with a strong cocoa taste and a slight bitterness which was complemented nicely by the silky whipped cream.

Then came the beautiful tea set which was served in a lovely tin.
There was a good balance of savouries and sweets.

Breakfast at Festiva Macau

I normally dine here for the dinner buffet which is brilliant especially the Indian section.

This time I finally got to try the breakfast buffet which is equally as good because they have an egg station just like Saffron at Banyan Tree.

For breakfast, the choice is rather shockingly huge ranging from pastries, breads, Chinese, Thai, Indian, basically most of the items you would get in the dinner buffet.
The buffet area is too big and I was in a rush because I got there late so didn't take much photos of the place.

As it was breakfast, I just got my usual breakfast favourites such as omelette with bacon, pancakes and pastries.

All the items I picked were delicious and it was complemented nicely with a good variety of drinks such as tea and hot chocolate.

Drinks at The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge

To end such a wonderful dinner, we went to The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge just round the corner from Lai Heen and had drinks.
This place had lovely vibes and great for hanging out in the evenings.

My friend had the cocktails while I had the Holy Garden mocktail which is made with Earl grey tea, lemon juice, lavender spray and honey syrup.
I loved my drink because Earl Grey is always my favourite and it had a refreshing kick of lemon juice as well.

For gins and tonics, they will mix the drinks infront of you which is really good.

Delicious crispy beancurd prawn rolls at č’øé£Æé¤Ø

Discovered this place because I was having a drink at Vuong's French Sandwich in West Hong Kong.
The name of this place intrigued me because they seem to specialize in steamed rice so I asked them what type of steamed rice it was and they said it was steamed rice in a ceramic pot and not the metal bowls.

Anyway, went to West Hong Kong again just to try this place out.

I only ordered a few dishes to test the waters.

Ordered the steamed rice to see if it was really that good.
To be fair, it was good but the rice was to soft and not as good as this secret place in Hong Kong.
The chicken feet tasted strange.
++++
Ricerolls were better than most restaurants in Hong Kong but not as good as the one in Prince Edwards.

++++
The crispy prawn beancurd rolls were amazing that I ordered them twice and they only cost $18 per portion.

A taste of Brooklyn

When you get off the escalators and walk along Staunton Street, you simply can't miss this brightly decorated joint on the corner.

You will find lots of people taking selfies there because it looks really good.

Brooklyn Bar & Grill serves American comfort food but also serves other dishes to accommodate the city.

Sadly I missed lunch because they have pulled pork pie which I will come back for another day.

I had mussels which were just as good!

The sauce looked really creamy but it was not and there were so much chopped vegetables in the white wine garlic sauce which went deliciously with the toasted bread that had cheese on it.

As well as the mussels I really liked the sauce because strangely I could taste cheese and it was so good, I requested for more bread but without the cheese this time to properly soak up the sauce as there was so much of it that I was tempted to drink it like soup.
Finished off with my favourite tea, I was really surprised they had it as most bars don't have tea and they had quite a few teas to choose from.

Coming back for the pie soon!
