2014 Christmas at Häagen-Dazs

Had my favourite chocolate fondue at Haagen Dazs which comes with cute little scoops of icecream that you dip in the chocolate.

Green tea and chocolate taste the best, while the strawberry and banana slices are a nice fruity option.
For Chocolate rain fans, there is a Chocolate rain fondue set.

At this gathering, I also tried the Classic milk icecream which had a rich creamy milk flavour.

For drinks we had the pink fantasy and winter romance which is made for strawberry lovers!

Umai scam Neh!

They sell the salad by weight.

Before you pick your salad, you have to choose a pasta or salad base which takes up most of the box so you are paying mainly for the pasta/salad.

After you have chosen your salad/pasta they do not weigh it and they only give you a tiny pinch of salad from the cabinet to feed a mouse!
They only let you choose two items which is pathetic, at Tallore they give you a huge box and you are allowed to choose as many items as you want as long as the box is big enough.

It is so rubbish that you can't just choose the salad from the counter because it has to come with the compulsory pasta or plain salad leaves to fill up the box.

I had an the garland Chrysanthemum and beef, potato mentaiko and pasta.
The pasta base was awful and clumped together because it was chilled in the fridge for too long.
Personally I feel that Japanese soba noodles would be better than pasta because this is meant to be Japanese joint.

Tried the wrong item at 西香記 (紅磡)

Walked past and saw this interesting joint which specializes in Rou jia mo.

Rou jia mo (meat burger/sandwich) is a street snack that originates from the Shaanxi Province and now widely consumed all over China.
In China, different provinces will have different variation in fillings.

☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Original Rou jia mo:

Unfortunately, the one I had was tasteless and had lots of oil dripping from it.

The vinegar made it slightly better.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Although I didn't like the food, it was good that they put effort into the design of the packaging and there is a QR code on the back of the bag.

To summarize I made the wrong decision in ordering this because the noodles that other people ordered looked so much better.
If I happen to be in the area again, I am going to try those noodles.

French cruller @ MOS Burger

MOS Burger's 8th Anniversary hence the new squid burger!!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Squid burger:

The squid burger was really nice, on top of the patty there was sweetcorn mixed with eggy mayonnaise which was strangely viscous.

The patty was crisp on the outside and in the middle it was moist and slightly gelatinous with chopped up pieces of squid.
It tasted nice because the squid flavour was strong and there were hints of prawn too in the patty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Caramel French Cruller:
For dessert I had the French Cruller which comes in three flavours: Chocolate, caramel or strawberry.
Caramel seemed like the best one I chose that.

A French cruller is a fluted, ring-shaped doughnut made from choux pastry with a light airy texture.

It was filled with cream and sweet caramel sauce and banana slices, a nice treat which is good once in a while.

First impressions at Foxtail & Broomcorn

When I saw this listed on openrice I thought it was a Western restaurant but it turned out to be Asian noodles with a Western name.
I gave it a visit because I wanted to see how it would taste.
After reading the reviews, I realized that I dined the same time as 龍震天 because we have the same guy sitting at the bar table in the photo.

Chili sauce:
This bottle was their homemade chili sauce which I thought was alcohol!!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kansai with somen noodles:

Tried the Kansai noodles and changed to noodles to Somen noodles because I am not keen on udon noodles.
I loved these noodles because they absorbed the broth nicely so they were well flavoured.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Coconut crepe:

These crepes reminded me this Malaysian dessert, each one was filled with so much coconut in it.

A bit too salty at 豆花妹撈米線

I was still hungry so got some noodles from here.

They had chicken wings in fermented beancurd sauce so I decided to get it as well.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Noodles:
The noodles at this branch were salty compared to the other branches.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken wings in fermented beancurd sauce:
