Breakfast sub from Hong Kong's Subway

Subway is famous for subs, but this time I got a breakfast sub, there are three fillings you can choose: egg and cheese, egg and ham or egg and bacon.
The egg was different to the egg on the product shot!
The one you get is mashed egg mixed in mayonnnaise.

There is the usual choice of sauces but for egg, I felt that salt and pepper were the best choices to go with it.
Overall, it tasted ok, just like the egg and mayo sandwich filling but I would prefer the scrambled egg that was shown on the product shot.
If you have tried the subs in the UK, you wouldn't want to eat the subs from Hong Kong which are laced with MSG and the breakfast subs in Hong Kong are such a joke.

Icecream hotdog at What's Dogs

I regretted not getting the ICEDOG which is basically a hotdog bun with softserve icecream in the middle.

I went for the creamy baked potatoes which was a bad choice because the sauce didn't look creamy and the oil got separated from the sauce and it was quite oily at the bottom.

The garlic was too overpowering, so all I could taste was garlic and I ended up with a garlic breath at an event I was attending.

durian mochi from CC Mochi

A few months ago, mochi places kept popping up claiming to come from Cheung Chau.
Thanks to Yanji for getting me this because I didn’t know there was durian and I love Durian.

After refrigerating it, the mochi had a nice cold and chewy texture with cold sweet durian inside.

Miss India in Mong kok

Unfortunately I was in MK so I had to get dinner there.
I was deciding between this place and Calimex, but I have been to Calimex lots of times so dined here.

It was late that night and there were quite a few customers so the food took a while to come.
I had the mutter paneer which had too much herbs in it and the rice was over priced because they didn't have plain Indian rice so you are forced to order other Indian rices if you appreciated Indian food.

It was honest of them to state that it was Thai rice so people don't get get cheated when they think it is Indian rice.
The food was a bit overpriced for MK because I can get better Indian food in Central.

Localized Thai food at Tai Hin Cuisine

Stir fried glass noodles with fermented beancurd sauce is a really tasty dish.
I have had it so many times in this hidden joint in Wan Chai but not many places serve it in HK.

Came here randomly and the glass noodles with fermented beancurd sauce was on the menu so tried it.
It was quite pricey compared to Wan Chai and the eateries around the area.
When it came, it was a rather tiny portion and I suppose there was quite a fair bit of seafood but mostly frozen with two fake crab sticks (surumi).

Unfortunately the taste was not right because the chili was overpowering and there was not any fragrant fermented beancurd taste.
There were too many chili pips in the noodles, which I had to spit out and the taste was the typical sweet Hong Kong taste with charred wok aroma.

Cafe 2 Oyster n Grill

This is a good place for large groups because there were ten of us so we got a long table and they serve a good variety of dishes to share.
Here was what we had.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Mushroom soup with black truffle:

The truffle soup was blended mushrooms with aromatic truffle and it was creamy with an earthy mushroom taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Oyster chowder:

This was good because the soup was extremely rich with a strong oyster taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Passion fruit and orange tea:

The tea was refreshing on a hot day with wedges of oranges that give you more orange flavour as you drank it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Canadian crabmeat salad:

This was nice and light paired with juicy orange slices that made it appetizing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Chicken wings:

These were easy to eat single bone chicken wings.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Clams:

The clams had a strong garlic taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Prawn balls filled with cheese:

These prawn balls had a molten cheesy centre which were a delight and they didn't really need the sauce provided.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Sausage platter:

The platter had a good variety of sausages.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Signature Wild rice:

The rice was fragrant with a hint of coconut and the grains of rice were soft mixed with wild rice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Linguine with grilled seafood:

The linguine was al-dente in a rich creamy sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Lamb:

The lamb was a bit fat for my liking.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Australian Tomahawk:

The tomahawk was huge and the beef was a bit tough.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Pineapple pizza with icecream:

It was a bit weird having a cheese pizza with icecream even though it was a pineapple pizza because the cheese was savoury.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Chocolate fondant:

The chocolate fondant was hot with molten chocolate in the middle but it was a bit rich.

Kung Fu Deluxe Dim Sum Hot Pot

Kung Fu started off serving dim sums but now they have Kung Fu hotpots which is basically a hotpot restaurant.

There are two broths which are worth trying, the chicken with sharks fin and the Chiu chow style rice broth which we tried and there is a choice of fish or crab.

After trying the fish, I felt that crab would be a better choice because there are no bones and scales that get in the way when you eat.

As well as broths, they have the much loved beef, dumplings and meat balls and other small dishes to nibble on when you are waiting for your friends.

Starters:

Beef

golden eggs with black fungus

Truffle dumplings

crab sticks

Fish maw

Squid

Lucky pouches

Crispy tofu rolls

Crisp sweet Chinese cabbages if you blanch them quickly.

Crispy fried fish skin

The inside of the restaurant looks a bit like an air raid shelter.

They also have their own home made XO Sauce.
