I love Popeyes which is obviously famous for its fried chicken and Southern treats like biscuits and shrimp etc.
The first time I had it was in Hong Kong where they had black beans rice and the usual.
Finally, you can now get popeyes in the UK where the first branch opened in Westfield Stratford which resulted in huge queues the first few months it opened.
There is now a branch in Romford next to the newly opened Wendys.
The hype has gone down a bit but still in demand for it to open more branches.
Since I have already tried the chicken, I had the cajun fries again along with the mac and cheese which they don't have in Asia.
The fries taste the same but the looks is different because they use a paper bag in the US and in Asia whereas here it is a card one.
The small tub of mac and cheese tasted how it should and it was really comforting.
It was cheesy and sharp made with proper cheddar cheese and not tasteless mozzarella which some restaurants like to use.
Popeyes Biscuit.
This is an American biscuit which looks like a scone.
To me, it was like an English dumpling baked without gravy.
The texture was crumbly on the outside and a bit soft and dry on the inside.
It was slightly savoury so it would have been nice with some gravy.
At popeyes, you get to have the option of cajun gravy or nutella.
