It was impressive that Maxims have done research on current flavours.
Earl grey flavours I have come accross so far, earl grey yogurt at Berrygood, earl grey chocolates at Cha.ke.li, earl grey scones at Antique Patisserie, earl grey swiss rolls at Roll, earl grey and taro cake at Vero and earl grey pudding at Cherry garden,
It appears that from the list above, Earl Grey is targeted more on western cuisines and the higher end of the market, so I was surprised when I saw it at Maxims just like the Pandan flavour.
Especially with Maxim's being the local bakery that everyone can afford.
I think it would probably sell better at hong kong branches and not so well in rural areas, so it makes sense that not all branches of Maxims have it.
I tried to get it at two mtr branches but they didnt stock it.
As for the cake, its texture is like the pandan one, but less greasy.
There is a fresh smell of earl grey with a hint of lemon and bits of earl grey tea leaves in the cake too.
