I have read numerous reviews that this place is the best for fish and chips but I was not familiar with Central and those narrow streets similar to THE LANES in Brighton.
Anyway, finally managed to locate it one day and it looks and smells the same as the British Fish and Chip shops.
They even had pickled eggs and gherkins in glass jars.
There were so many choices of fish as you would expect.
On the table, there was the good old Sarson’s vinegar bottle! [not sure if it was real Sarson’s vinegar inside though.]
In the end I chose Fish cake and chips and Cheese and onion pie with chips.
The food came quite fast.

Although the chips looked over done and dark, they tasted amazing.
The potatoes are freshly cut and fried.

Fish cake and chips
This was a REAL fishcake!! The ones I had at school, ground fish with herbs and some mashed potato inside a crispy crumb coating. I went mad with the vinegar and put loads on the chips and fishcake.
Along with the fishcake there was the classic mushy peas and real tartar sauce.
Cheese onion pie
It was the same as the school ones, thick gooey cheese inside with slivers of molten onion.
Its hard to explain but it is not sickening or creamy, but really cheddary and gooey but not stringy.
The cheese becomes firm after it has cooled down for a while.
It came with gravy too!
Freshly squeezed lemon

It was really comforting because they had deep fried mar’s bars, although I was really hoping to see Bubble and squeak on the menu too!
Let’s hope that will be on the menu soon.
