Ultimate fried chicken @ Cheung chau's Joyful palace

It may sound extreme to go all the way to the Cheung Chau island for fried chicken, but it was truly worth it.

It was my first stop for food, the cosy restaurant seats about 16 people.

The tables have a display compartment beneath the glass, exhibiting watches and other items.

Luckily they had an English menu for westerners.
So ordered fried chicken with rice, and fried chicken with mini potato has browns.

The prices were such a good deal, the above items including drinks came to $43.
A single piece of fried chicken only costs $8, which is cheaper than KFC and tastes far better than KFC.
The drinks that come with the meal are coffee, HK style tea or soft drinks, it was not stated on the menu that it was the glass bottles of coke, or I would have definately had that.
I felt that it should be stated on the menu that it is bottled coke, because it gives it that wow factor,
especially they serve the best fried chicken, and the meal also includes a glass bottle coke!!

When the chicken and rice came, the presentation reminded me of Jolibee's, and the hash browns reminded me of the breakfast ones at Burgerking.
Overall I felt the rice set tasted better, the rice tasted like the rice with chicken oil served with hainan chicken, and it was covered in yummy sauce, although it was mushroom sauce there was not much mushrooms, but it was creamy and the rice was nice and soft.

The chicken was so good, the coating was so crispy and wasnt oily at all.
It reminded me of the chicken at the Green waffle diner, except the chicken here is smaller in size, and it actually has flavour.
After finishing it off, I didnt feel thirsty as you do with KFC or other fried chickens!!

I will definately come here again and also try the chicken wings.
