Initially I wanted to try their branch at Hung Hom, however the location is hard to find and I rarely go there, later I found out there was a new branch at fortress hill, and decided to go there.
As they are located in Hung Hom and fortress hill, both are residential areas, I didn’t expect it to look posh. However the food selection in there have an extreme quality range, by that I mean the lower end of the food is the chachaanteng style food, and the upper end food is very good.
The restaurant was chachaanteng style as expected, the drinks, soups starters were also chachaanteng style.
I think for the people who have been and ordered the lower end items, I dont expect them to give good comments, infact just so-so comments. So for people who plan to come here, I would recommend them to order the premium items such as the Jumbo oyster, as for the other items you can order them elsewhere.
I chose the beef in satay sauce as an insurance incase the pasta wasnt as good as expected, then ordered the Ink pasta in white wine sauce with Jumbo oysters, the pasta came with soup and a drink.
There were baked pastas, but since I wanted to try the quality of the oyster, I picked the white wine sauce. The cheese in the baked one would have overpowered the oyster.
Although the wait for the pasta was long, but it was worth it, by the time it arrived, the satay had already been finished.
The beef in satay sauce just tasted like chachaanteng stuff, however the mixed mushrooms in it were very good, not the canned ones.
When the pasta came, the Oysters were as huge as claimed, about 7-8cm in length and 4-5cm in width.
Both of the oysters were gently cooked, slightly creamy and runny in the centre, even its stomach contents were still in liquid form, usually it would be firm green/brown inside.
As the oysters tasted nice in its simplest form, the baked ones will also taste good.
However there was no wine taste in the pasta, but all the elements in the pasta were good, the garlic, onions, mushrooms, herbs, if other ingredients were added, it would have ruined the taste such as tomato.
