☆Γρεξοπ☆ΓΡΕΞΟπ☆Grecoπ☆Γρεψοπ☆Γκρέκοπ☆

This restaurant immediately caught my attention because of the Greek letter π (Pi).

For the first year of Maths at Imperial College, you are required to learn the Greek alphabet as a prerequisite, however the most Greek letters I ever used were alpha, beta, sigma and delta.

Anyway, it was really fun to see that their dining tables are decorated with Greek letters.

I faxed them over an order because I was not sure if they would understand me reading out the Greek dishes in a British accent, also if the staff was Asian I wasn’t sure if I could understand them pronouncing Greek dishes with an Asian accent!

Although these are not the types of kebabs I am looking for, I still like to try new dishes especially the Mezedes.

But I wish someone would open a British style Pakistani kebab shop in Hong Kong, the Greasy ones with julienne cabbages, lemon juice and chilli sauce that are WTF (worth the fat) as the-eating-pan saids.

I ordered the following: 1 X Skewer Souvlaki Kalamaki, Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts, Grilled feta cheese, Patzarosalata (beetroot) and the Melitzanosalata.
The Patzarosalata was not available so I changed it to the Tzatziki.
I was disappointed because I really wanted to try the Patzarosalata mezedes, which is made with beetroot and yoghurt.

1x Skewer Souvlaki Kalamaki
This was tender grilled smoked chicken on a skewer, the chicken was juicy however it was bland on its own and tasted nice with Mezedes.

Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts:
This was my favourite, the yoghurt was extremely thick like cream cheese with a very tart taste!
The texture of the honey is so much different and runnier than the ones I have tried.
The way I ate this was spooning the yoghurt and letting excess honey fall off.
I think this is the best honey because people always say that honey is soothing but I never felt that, all I felt was the sweetness of it stinging my throat! But the honey here was truly soothing! The sweetness was natural.

Tzatziki:
I did not really want to order this, but because the Patzarosalata was not available I got this instead. The taste of cucumber was faint, and it tasted the same as the yoghurt in the dessert.

Grilled feta cheese
I have never tried grilled feta before, so this was new to me.
I felt that it could have been grilled more because it just tasted like feta that was steamed.
The texture was not stringy like the typical heated cheese, but it was soft and mushy.
The olive oil and herbs enhanced the grilled feta’s taste nicely.

Melitzanosalata
This was grounded parsley, aubergines, red peppers, and walnuts with olive oil.
It reminded me of some starter at Habibi (Mediterranean food).
The paste was very light and moist similar to puree.

Pita bread: This came with dips and there were so many herbs sprinkled on it. The pita bread was thicker and chewier than the ones I have come across before.
