Whoopie doo with Starbucks red velvet whoopie pie

The cake selection at Starbucks is really good, this time they had the Starbucks petites, which are cakes smaller than the standard size.
In their petites selections there were: blueberry cream puffs, red velvet whoopie pies, green tea red bean rolls, signature fruit tarts and chocolate whoopie pies.

In the end I chose the red velvet whoopie pie because I liked the strawberry red colour even though I knew it was food colouring.
The colourful sprinkles on the top made it look nice, however the Starbucks US version of this is much more natrual.
It also looked like a huge macaron!
The whoopie pie (alternatively called a gob, black-and-white, bob, or "BFO" for Big Fat Oreo) originates from America. It is classified as a baked product that may be considered either a cookie, pie, or cake. It is made of two round mound-shaped pieces of chocolate cake, or sometimes pumpkin cake, with a sweet, creamy filling or frosting sandwiched between them.
The cake was moist and red because it was a red velvet cake.
Some red velvet cakes contain cocoa or vanilla in the mixture.

This one it tasted of vanilla. The cream inside was smooth and buttery, it reminded me of Victorian sandwiches but without the jam.
Overall the cake was nice so I could say whoopie doo!
